Stopped Working,
Date:August 21, 2012
By Peterpool
Pros: When it works it is great. But it stopped working.
Cons: Stopped working after 2 seasons, just after warranty expired.
"Do yourself a favor and get a different brand. The reviews are true. Mine stopped working after 2 season of light use. I live in the northeast so it only got used for a few months each season. Now i have to send it back at my expense and get it fixed for a few hundred dollars (there arent any service shops nearby). No thanks. I'll just go buy a dolphin like i should have in the first place."

doesn't last,

Pros: cleans well, lightweight, works independent of pool lines
Cons: not durable even in light-use conditions, manufacturer takes no responsibility for the problems
"Wish I had been more careful about reading the reviews beforehand. I have the previous model, but it seems they haven't changed it. It cleaned well but stopped working completely after about 8 months of light use. Having paid $500 or so for it, we were extremely disappointed. Unless you live near a place that can service it, it would be better to get something more reliable.
After reading the reviews of Smartpool products on different sites, it seems that this is typical of them. It's too bad, because it was a good little machine while it lasted, but not worth the money if it has to be replaced every year (or more often)!"

Totally Worth It,

Pros: Works Well, Economical, Cleans Easily, Under-valued
Cons: Lacks Climbing power (but still climbs a little bit)
"This is my first robot and I am hooked! We could not afford to spend over $1,000 on one of the fancy robots, so we bought the cheapest one on the market.
I am overjoyed with my purchase. I've been using the Nitro Wall Climber for over a month almost every day, and it does a great job! I had heard complaints about the item being broken from the get-go, but this is certainly not what I've experienced. This thing was an integral part of cleaning my disgusting pool this Spring.
Last year (our first year) we didnt cover the pool until November. by that point we had gotten so many leaves in the pool that I did not feel like scooping them all out, that was a HUGE mistake.
When we opend the pool mid-May it was a dark brown. The nitro assisted in removing an entire yardwaste bag of leaves from the pool (after they had dried). This little robot has earned a special place in our poolhouse."

Nitro wall climber replacement?,
Date:June 12, 2012

Pros: works good for the first year, didn't have any problems. kept pool clean
Cons: does not work longer than a year, quit the first week of the second year.
"I believe this product replaced the Nitro wall climber. it looks exactly like it and is made by the same company. please look at the reviews on amazon. I had the same experience. it works well but is a lot money for something that only last one year then needs 200-300 in repairs. I called the support number and they will send you a pick up number but it is clearly written on it that you will pay for shipping both ways and parts. just not worth it for one year."

Excellent for the Price,

Pros: Low Cost, Effective, Light Weight, Easy to Clean, Works Well
Cons: Bad Reputation, Unsure of Capabilities, Alleged Problems with Warranty from Other Sites
"I decided to take a chance on this robot despite the mixed reviews I've found on other sites. I have been using it daily for about a week without a problem. The bag does a great job of micro filtering my pool water, I know because of how disgusting it is after a 1 hour quick cycle.
The cleaner seems to have some trouble climbing my walls, but I'm not overly concerned about that anyway. Also, it focuses on my deep end primarily, despite me always placing it in the shallow. Again, the deep end is far worse (my pool is disgusting after opening it) so it does need more attention. Hopefully once the pool is up and running properly I can update this review and let you know the robot is a gem.
I will say that it worked as soon as I put it in the pool. This is my first robot, and I can tell you that while it may not be perfect, it was well worth the money to NOT have to keep backflushing my sand filter. At this point I expect it will be another 2 months before the robot pays for itself in checmicals that WEREN'T lost to back-flushing."

Not the best cleaner,

Pros: lightweight, in expensive compared to other models.
Cons: doesn't clean the whole pool in one cyle. doesn't cleans the stairs so you still have to vacum.
"This cleaner is suppose to be able to handle up to a 20 x 40 pool in a cycle , but it doesn't. I couldn't believe that the pool cleaner wasn't doing the job so I actually watched as this cleaner hit the same spot in the pool over 10 times while not hitting other parts of the pool at all. it required a second 3 hr cycle to achieve total coverage and then it didn't pick up all the dirt. you still have to vacum the stars so you might as well buy a pool blaster and do the whole pool. I am going to return this product. I can honestly say without reservation that I would never recommend this cleaner to anyone with an inground pool nor by another nitro/smartpool product again. Thier claims of performance a grossly overstated."
