Worst pool purchase EVER,
Date:June 1, 2012

Cons: hard to assembly, way too heavy after putting in sand
"This is the worst purchase I ever made for the pool. Catalog says easy assembly but you better have a good rubber mallot and a STRONG arm. It took over 6 hours to fit it together. the catalog says add sand but it doesn't tell you, you need 70 lbs., so with all that weight you need people to help get them into the pool."

Pros: Good concept, sturdy fits nicely in oval pool, appears to be safe for kids
Cons: Floats even with recommended weights, priced high, some partsmissing
"Purchased for my daughter and was disappointed with the final product. The leveling feet do not stay on and the thing floated all over the pool until someone could get external weights applied to the bottom. They are sturdy and look nice but for the money they should have been tested in a pool and all the kinks worked out."

better than ladder but not great,

Pros: not a ladder and they look nice once I fixed them.
Cons: not stable or adjustable, handrails are cheap and flexible.
"The pictures lead me to believe these steps have easily adjustable feet which they do not. Taking the feet apart breaks them so if you don't have a perfectly flat bottom, prepare to shim. These stairs also want to float even with the 75lbs of recommended sand. Plan on filling more panels than is instructed. Handrails are for looks only and are very flexy. Overall these stairs look nice and are better than a ladder but could be better for the money with improved design and testing. Big rubber mallet required for assembly and not enough screws were supplied to complete the job. In the swim droppped shipped two boxes over two days with no communication on the status of my back order. Will think twice before ordering again after two incomplete or damaged shipments."

Directions need to be corrected,
Date:June 5, 2011
By saragjym
Pros: It looks wonderful and steps feel sturdy. Much better looking than the straight "up-and-down" ladder I had.
Cons: the instructions are faulty. The manufacturers need to take a hard look at their design.
"The directions inside the box say installers need to put 20 lbs of sand in the designated areas for ballast. The box says you need 70 lbs. I called the manufacturer and was told I needed 70 lbs. I bought 70 lbs, only to discover that there was room in the ladder for only 20! When we finally got everything together and lowered the ladder into the pool, the ladder floated upwards. Not enough ballast. So we drilled holes to let more water in. Sat on it. Got up. It floated. We now have 17 lbs of weights on each side of the ladder to keep it on the floor of the pool and to try to keep the awful pad we bought flat under it. It does not look pretty."
