Slow acting Oxidizer,
Date:June 8, 2010
By poolmommd
Pros: Affordable, easy to use packaging
Cons: Wasn't effective
"I used this product to help release some of the bound-up chlorine in my pool water after opening. I treated the pool each day for 3 days and only saw gradual results. Then I used a bag of oxidizer from a different company left over from last year and my pool was crystal clear within hours. I will not purchase it again."

No more rashes!,
Date:August 3, 2009

Pros: Keeps our cyanunic acid level in normal range
Cons: I can't think of one!
"We have had our above ground pool in use for the past 11 years. We were always using cholorine granular on a daily basis. Last year my husband developed a skin rash every time he went in the pool so we had our water tested. Our Cyanunic Acid level was 268ppm. The norm is 30-80ppm. We were advised not to use our pool. When the level of cyanuric acid rises, the “killing power” of the free chlorine residual weakens. At above 50 ppm of cyanuric acid, the time it takes to kill bacteria in the water is much longer compared to swimming pool water without cyanuric acid. When the level of cyanuric acid builds up, the chlorine becomes increasingly less effective in keeping the water clean and problems such as high bacterial and algae growth can occur. We were advised to drain our pool and start over, which we did. We now only use the Chorine free shock daily and our levels are now in the normal range and our pool is clean. No more rashes! I would have never known that cyanunic acid would have built up in our pool so much over the years and cause bacteria. We definitely recommend using the chlorine free shock and will continue to do so."

Pros: It works
"It really works. I use it in my pool as a shock when I do not have time to use chlorine. Where it is really a excellent value is when I use it as the activator in my hot tub instead of the very expensive ThermoSpas activator."

"Use of this In-The-Swim non-chlorine based product while maintaining a proper chlorine-level and a weekly dose of algacide with considerable filtering has achieved and maintained chrystal-clear pool water for years. To observers I have made a daily/weekly responsibility....simple."

Pros: No chlorine smell, works fast, no resedue
Cons: none
"I used many other pool shock products and was disappointed, some left residue that forced me to vacuum entire pool, then I had to wait for chlorine count to come down -usually 24 hours, when I switched to chlorine free shock I don't have to worry about these issues, this product does what it supposed to do with no "side effects" could enter the clear water in my pool several minutes after application"

"I use this occasionally for my pool, but mostly it's great for the hot tub. I put a couple capfulls in each week. This is the same exact stuff that the spa supply companies charges six times as much for!"

Pros: Doesn't make the water cloudy, Kids can jump right in after adding to pool
Cons: none that I have found
"This is a great product.. I use to use chlorine shock and I would have to mix it in a bucket of water before adding it to the pool and it still made the water cloudy...After switching to the Chlorine-Free Pool Shock I don't have to waste my time mixing I just pour it directly into the deep end of the pool and walk away... My water stays perfectly clear and the kids can jump right in.."
