Better Than the ring I used last year,
October 27, 2007
By POOLGIRL96

Pros: Grommets on the corners-ease of use-durable
Cons: None yet
"I bought the 4x8 air pillow and I can't tell you how much better it worked compared to the ring float I used last year. For one thing it was easier to anchor and keep in place so when it came to putting the cover on it didn't move around or cause the cover to get hung up on it either. Last year the ring float deflated half way through winter so we will see how this holds up. It is more durable than the ring too. I inflated it halfway and I read somewhere to put duct tape over the flap(I guess to keep it inflated). So far so good!!"

Pillow Power,
October 10, 2007
By Leesa
|
Pros: Durable Vinyl
Cons: Had a hard time getting it to stay in place
"The pool-closing air pillow is a great product! It helped us complete our end-of-season closing chores. I feel good knowing that it will relieve the stress on the pool walls when freezing temperatures arrive!"

Best way to go!,

Pros: Easy to inflate, round shape easy to manuever
Cons: Little bit of a tough time closing the valve
"Good overall product. Definite plus that the shape has been changed from square to round, just makes sense... how many square above ground pools have you ever seen?
The only thing I would like to see is grommets on all four sides of the pillow to allow anchoring from all four sides. Sometimes two sides is just not enough and the pillow can still drift on you when putting the cover on.
Otherwise it is a good, and yes necessary investment. You only need the one but you should definitely get this one, imho!! ;)"

Good Product,
September 19, 2007
By Tammy

"My husband and I had our pool pillow go flat last year like some of the other reviewers. However, we realized this year that you are not supposed to blow it up all the way. It is only supposed to be inflated half way. If it is inflated all the way, as soon as as the temperature reaches the freezing point it will make the balloon go flat. Hope this helps the other reviewers who commented about this problem."

o.k. for tje price,

Pros: helps for a while
Cons: need two people
"This is a relatively inexpensive item that seems to start off well (after you have help positioning it and attaching it to the sides of the pool) but my experience has been that it tends to go flat midway through the winter...still, I figure it's probably better to use it than not to use it."

Pros: keep the cover from getting too full of rain
"Pillow worked fine until the rope broke and pillow went to the side of the pool. I suggest finding a better way to secure pillow in the middle."

Worked OK, BUT,
August 9, 2007
By dadgrad

Pros: Helped with keeping cover down in windy conditions because water pooled around pillow
Cons: One corner grommet ripped out and now I don't think I can use it again this year. Only two corners have grommets
"This was my first pillow and it did what I wanted it to do - pool the water around pillow to make the water removal easier and stop wind from lifting cover up."

Good buy,
August 9, 2007
By directorcoop

Pros: Durable
Cons: None
"I bought this product last fall for the first time. My coworkers told me that they bought similar products that never lasted through the winter. I figured that I would minimally have to buy one each year, which is no problem since it is very inexpensive. However, mine lasted fine...in fact, I plan to use the same one this fall. It does well at keeping the cover off of the pool water so that the cover doesn't get ruined by the freezing waters below. It doesn't seem very durable, but it has proven me wrong."

Great Pillow!,
August 9, 2007
By Keljo

Pros: It helped keep my winter cover elevated and prevented ice damage to my pool
Cons: None
"I bought this as a first time pool owner and was impressed. Not only did it keep my pool from freezing and collapsing the walls, but it kept my winter cover elevated and made it easy to pump water off the cover. It survived the winter and I was able to deflate it and will reuse it this winter. I know people who have had to purchase new pillows every year!"
