Pros: Quiet, powerful, and economical. Large debris basket.
"Just installed this pump (3/4 hp) to replace a 30 yr old Hayward pump. Took me only a few hours to install it with just a strap wrench and teflon tape. The clowns at my local pool store wanted $480 for the same pump installed. I did it myself for $285! In the Swim shipped it for free and on the same day I ordered it. Came in 3 days. Can't beat that!"

"I rate this pump very highly. I have used it for going on two seasons and it has been very dependable. I went from a 1 1/2 HP to this 3/4 HP to cut down on operating cost and it has done a very good job."

Cons: a little more expensive than the one I replaced, but you get what you pay for...
"I replaced a broken 1 HP pump with this 1 1/2 HP one and it works great, it is very powerful and my old pump had gotten rusty on the metal parts--this one is enclosed in plastic. Very nice design and easy to install, the outlet port twists easily to adapt to two positions (Up or to the side)."

"Pump finally went on my 5 year old filter, after going to 3 different pool supply houses I was told that my pump\filter was uncommon and manufactured for my specific brand of pool so as a regular customer with intheswim I purchased what looked to be a good replacement unit, as stated I received my pump in 1 day and to my surprise it bolted right up and only took 10 mins to do so. As always intheswim came through again!"

"I like this pump very much so far. It is much quieter than the pump that it replaced. Everything matched up with my filter. I love the on and off button, and I also like the design of the filter lid. I hope to get years of service from it! We ordered the pump on a Sunday evening and it arrived on the following Tuesday!!!"

Pros: Quiet More powerful than my old pump which was twice the size. Lowest price anywhere!
Cons: Needed to change power cord to match my existing outlet. No big deal though, I used the power cord from original pump!
"Very impressed with this pump. Much cheaper from In The Swim than any pool dealer in my area. I have an 18x33 AG pool that originally had a 2 hp multi speed pump with a Proline 200 lb sand filter. Replaced filter with Hayward Pro series 18" 150 lb sand filter early last season. Then my original pump failed at the end of last season. I bought this pump at beginning of this season. It's half the HP of the original pump (old pump was 2 HP new pump is only 1 HP). New pump has the same rpm (3450) as old pump, is much Quieter, and actually More Powerful (water pressure at the return) than old system!! Less HP is cheaper to run, I run it for a shorter period than previous pump and pool is actually Cleaner than before..... I will only buy Hayward equipment going forward and buy from In the Swim... Best value... lower price than anyone else and I received the pump in only a few days after placing my order.. I highly recommend this pump only from In The Swim!!"

Cons: Died after a total of 6 months use.
"I purchansed the Haywood Pump and filter last years in April, did not install it untill End of May when it is starting to get warm enough. Used it the end of May to the beginning of September. Stored in garage for winter. Opened pool this year in May again, pump worked until the middle of June and died. One years warrenty went from April to April, actually used for only 6 months. Haywood products have always lasted for many years in the past. No help from Haywood to replace this pump. Very disappointed. Is anything made well anymore?"

Pros: Easy to install On Off switch cant be beat. Great for taking water out the pool without pulling the plug out
Cons: comes with three prong outlet had to switch cord and lid could be a little esier to open

"I purchased this pump about a month ago and am well pleased with it so far. It runs quite and has a much bigger basket than my old pump did about twice as big.
Howerver I had to buy an adapter to attach it to my system. But it was still very easy to set up. Delivery was very quick. Love doing business with In The Swim."

"As always, delivery was fast, two days from placing the order. The on/off switch is a very useful feature. Best of all the pump truly was self priming. After changing out the old pump and adjusting the fittings (old pump had nonstandard comnnections and had to as anticipated get an adaptor to hook the pump in) after minimal effort to assure proper water flow into the pump and filter, we were up and running. Easily a big improvement on the old pump. Given that the old sand filter is still working fine, much more economical than changing the hold assembly and a significant upgrade to what was plac before. Thanks."

"I have used only Hayward Pool Pumps and filters for my above ground pool for over 25 years.This one is self-priming which is a great feature since you won't burn out the pump accidentally. It runs very efficiently and quietly. They have now added an on/off switch since my last one, Thats great when it's time to clean out the basket. I have never had any problems with them and get many years of constant use from them, IN THE SWIM delivered my pump quicker than they stated, gave me free delivery and a lower final price than any local or on-line store. My thanks to them !"

"This is a great update from the older Hayward Power-Flo pumps. The new Matrix pump came with my new Hayward X-Stream filter. My old and new pumps were both 1.5hp, but the new matrix seems to move a lot more water. The switch they added to the pump was a much needed update. Only a few past hayward pumps had a switch,and it was always something that was needed. When your cleaning the filter, or doing something with it, the last thing you want to do is pull the plug out with wet hands, so the switch is great. This pump is also easy to switch from top to side discharge so you can use it with pretty much filter."
