Pros: simple, great value, compact, efficient, silent. Lightweight an easy to manage, clear obstructions.
Cons: No cons to speak of other than best to use with pool canister
"Great cleaner. I gave up on a newly purchased AquaBot within a month. I have owned two earlier Kreepy Krauleys and the sand shark is the best yet, but advisable to use with leaf canister to avoid frequent pump cleaning."

My worst nightmare,

Pros: The idea is good, if it would only do what it's supposed to do.
Cons: It gets stuck every 15 to 20 minutes.
"I followed the instructions exactly and installed it just as it said. Before I put it in the water, I hand vacuumed the pool and backflushed the filter to provide every chance for this device to succeed.
As I stood and watched it move accross the pool, it climbed the wall and got stuck on the glass of the pool light. After I put it back on the bottom it went right back up the wall and stuck itself to the glass over the pool light again. After removing it from the glass, I took it to the opposite side of the pool and it promptly stopped itself against the concrete step.
After five hours of constanly dislodging it from various stalls, I removed it from the pool and prepared it for it's return to "IN THE SWIM". Leaves that fell into the pool while under operation were promptly driven to the bottom by the trailing hose, however the pool sweeper, while in motion, failed to pick them up. After removing the sweeper, I had to revacuum the pool to remove these leaves. This is a case of "BUYER BEWARE".

Pros: Great suction, quiet, reaches where my previous cleaner didnt
Cons: havent found one yet!!!
"I've had this cleaner for almost 2 weeks and I love it. My Hayward (previous cleaner) broke and was without one for about a month or 2 so we had a lot of debris in the pool (not screened in) I took my lunch break and put the sand shark in and I was amazed that when i got home from work that my pool was clean clean clean. It was reaching all areas just fine where as my Hayward once it got to the jets it would losen up suction and go back to the other end of the pool the sand shark does not do that at all. Its like it has its own attitude the jets do not phase it at all. Its amazing how the little things that make a big difference. Im also grateful that we were able to do the payment plan. This is the first time we have to buy one of these and didnt realize how extremely pricey they get. It is however worth it to spend a little more so it can get the job done right...Thanks In the Swim.!"

Sandshark,

Pros: Purchased this cleaner 2 months ago and it has done a fabulous job. It is priced right.and runs off the filter
Cons: None
"I have a 44' by 22' kidney shaped pool that is surrounded by trees.... I purchased the Kreepy Krauler Sandshark 2 months ago and have used it continuously.... So far it has performed well cleaning the floors and walls especially after it rains and all of the debris falls off the trees....It also cleans small leaves and acorns.
Our pool has rounded walls at the bottom so the Sandshark has no problem climbing the walls... Whether it would climb the walls of a rectangular pool where the walls are perpendicular may be a different story... The great part is that it is priced right,, runs directly off of the filter and does not require a separate hookup... It has done a great job for me... Try it..."

Best Suction Side Cleaner so far,
Date:June 15, 2009
By AtlGuy

Pros: Powerful suction, Big and small items picked up, Wont get stuck, Programmed Steering
Cons: doesn't do steps but what does?
"Have been using the Sand Shark for two weeks now and have to say its the best cleaner dropped into the pool. The pool is spotless with no spots of dirt or leaves anywhere.
I like the fact that it has programmed steering so it doesn't spend most of its time hugging the pull diameter or just moving around the deep end. It goes all over.
I also have a pool (gunite) that has some tight corners around the steps. The original Kreepy Krauly would get stuck as well as any other programmed cleaners I have tried. This one does not get stuck. I think its because of the way it moves around the pool. No wheels or "click and jerk". The only way I can describe it is like the vibrating movement of an electric razor dancing along a countertop while on. The vibrating movement helps it turn around even when it pulls directly into a tight spot.
Its also quiet and the suction is very good. I see leaves getting pulled in several inches away from the cleaner while it is moving.
One thing to note is it took a few days before it started climbing the walls. I think the squeegees on the bottom took some time to conform to my pool bottom. Now it has no problem on the walls or floor.
The inside is also self serviceable which is a plus over other models."
