"We got a pool last year and it came with a ladder and we hated it. So I started looking around for steps so my elderly Mother-in-law could get into the pool with our family along with all my neices and nephews. We planned on getting just the steps and after 6 weekends of my brother in law not showing up to build it, we took the lumber back and I called and ordered another set of steps and the enclosure kit. Yes, is a little pricey but it is worth every penny. We put it together today and it did take about 4 hrs to assemble the whole unit.(2 people) You have to put together both set of steps and the the enclosure kit and the gate. It is alittle time consuming. The only issue we had was we built a stone patio outside the pool and the pool and the patio are not the same level which we did have to finangle it a bit to level it up. The unit does have some room for play but if there is more than and inch difference your side rails will not line up correctly. We eventually did get it to work and I am very happy with the product so far. It looks good and it is very easy to walk up into the pool and out. I am so glad I spent the extra money and bought the steps instead of the ladder. You won't be sorry."

Pros: No fencing in the backyard. Ability to lock the swinging door.
Cons: Kind of Expensive.
"We bought our current pool last year and it only had a standard ladder. Our autistic daughter, who normally is a fish during the summer, refused to climb the ladder and if we lifted her into the pool, she became hysterical. This year we found the staircase system and enclosure. She loves it and the enclosure gives us peace of mind that she can not get in the pool without us opening it for her."
