"Overall I really like the cleaner. It is easy to use, it gets the leaves and it climbs the walls. I have a big storage unit near my pool so the bulkiness is not a problem.
However, if and when the unit breaks down, I've not been to happy with the manuf support: At your expense you ship the product to a thrid party. If the cord or power unit breaks down warrantee will not cover and it costs $190 plus return shipping! Memo to Smart Pool (the manuf)Stand by your product!"

Pros: Light weight, easy to use, long cord, runs itself, clean walls

"I was very nervous about getting a pool cleaner because most of them do not do what they say they do. They cost a lot of money and I wanted to make sure I got a good product. After looking at video;s and reading some of the review about this product, I went a head and got it. Well, I am glad I did!, does a good job, you put it in the water, turn it on and thats it! After 2 hours it shuts itself off and its done. Sometimes I do have to run 2 cleaning cycles but it does get my pool clean! Good product."

Pros: Cleans well. Is a great help opening the pool and cleaning.
Cons: Edges sometimes do not get cleaned as well as the bottom.
"This is my 4th year with my Nitro. I love this cleaner. In the spring, opening the pool it has really helped clean the bottom of my fiberglass pool. I get lots of worms and bugs. It also keeps my pool clean. It does not get the walls and water line but I have fiberglass and it isn't a big deal. My pool is more of a free form so sometimes I will brush around the edge to help the Nitro get the dirt, otherwise this is a great product. When the time comes I will buy a Nitro again."

"This is the third automatic pool cleaner I have owned for my 18x36 inground. I had a Kreepy Krauley but my 1.25hp pump was not enough to make it work really well, was slow and then always needed to backwash the filter and waste water & chem.
Bought an Aqua Bot T2 Turbo a few years ago new from In The Swim. First unit worked 1 time then failed. Sent to manufacturer for a replacement (2 week turn around, no problems). The new unit lasted only a month or so with once a week use. Sent in for another replacement (another 2+ weeks no problems). That unit lasted 2.25 seasons (4 month season with once a week use) and then the drive section completely failed. Now out of warrenty.
Recently bought the Nitro Wall Climber as it is nearly 1/3 the price of the AquaBot. Overall, the Nitro is just as good as the AquaBot at nearly 1/3 the price. Overall pool cleaning is the same (excellent). Bag clean up is better with the Nitro as its bag has a plastic framed opening vs the floppy bag in the AquaBot. Nitro cord is thinner and does not seem to get as twisted as the larger AquaBot cord. Nitro is lighter and easier to handle.
The only 2 things the AquaBot does better than the Nitro is,1. the AquaBot cleans up past the water line while the Nitro Wall Climber gets off the floor about 12 inches and then goes back down. This is not a big deal once the pool is clean. It may make a small difference in spring opening for a time or two.
2. The AquaBot was a little faster at 2 hours vs. about 3 hours for the Nitro. Again, not that big of deal.

Overall, I would buy the Nitro over the AquaBot in a heartbeat. Can't say yet about the Nitro's reliability but so far so good. Given that my AquaBot lasted about 16 uses or 1 season per machine the Nitro does not have a high bar to clear. AND at about 1/3 the price I can buy 3 Nitro's for 1 AquaBot."

"A product and pool accessory one must have if you have a pool. Great job will be accomplished when you use it for the first time, I would recommend this most highly for all in ground pools. I have used many others and no others compare to this one. As for as I can see, I will recommend this one to everyone that has a pool in ground.Its top's with me, and you should purchase one as soon as you can. It will do the job, one is looking for. Far better than others."

"Our hose attached vacumn only seems to have suction for a split second and then sucks no longer. We desperately needed an automatic cleaner that did not need to use our filter system. We purchased this one because of the price and on recommendation. So far it seems to work fairly well. A few times it seems to do its own thing such as 'popping a wheely' as we call it and it does it for the whole cycle, or even missing a few spots on the bottom here and there. Overall, it does it good job of cleaning up the floor our our inground pool."

"For the past few years we struggled with an old Hayward cleaner. In order not to fill up the main filter with debris there had to be an intermediate filter on the vacuum hose which was a pain to clean; it didn't pick up much and we had to run the filter constantly. I didn't want to buy another similar cleaner but I was reluctant to try a robotic cleaner after reading many reviews. We even spoke to professional pool cleaners and no one had any experience with robotic cleaners. As the pool was looking worse we crossed our fingers and went ahead and ordered the Nitro. I made sure to keep the box it came in because my expectations were so low. We have had it since early summer and so far it's worked well; I can't really speak to long-term ownership. Granted, our pool is not large but it does get tree debris and sand and the Nitro picks it all up easily. I hope as we go into fall I will still be as pleased. I do have to brush the steps and along the water line. It does crawl up the sides but as it's so hot here I still need to brush the walls. We are very pleased so far and hope the Nitro will last for more than one season."

"I should of payed the extra $400 and got a Dirt Devil instead. I have a 20x40 pool. The Nitro (this is the one that doesn't climb the walls) will not clean the whole pool. You have to run at least 2 cleaning rotations every time and it still misses sections of the pool. It does pick up whatever it runs over. The tabs that lock the bottom plate will get loose and the filter bag can drop out when you try to pull up the cleaner from the bottom of the pool. You also have to be careful when removing it from the pool because some of the debris it vacumed will drop out when the water drains back into the pool.The contruction of this unit is cheesy. After 5 uses I had to turn it to smart pool for repairs. Now I'm without a cleaner for 2-3 weeks if not longer. YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR!!"

"I use the Nitro in a very large above ground pool This cleaner saves me so much time each week. Being able to just drop it in and let it go is great! I hadn't cleaned my pool for a couple of weeks just before getting the cleaner. Dropped it in and 3 hours later - the pool looked perfect! I am amazed at how small some of the particles are that it picks up. It is very easy to clean and operate. Don't hesitate to buy this one. Fantastic value for the money."

"We love this robot. We have even given it a name since it is now our pool boy. It is slow, but very thorough. Well worth the money since we don't have to fight over who will be cleaning the pool. Our pool is almost 10 years old so the less wear on the filter, the better. There are only two cons. The first is that sometimes it gets stuck on the side of the pool at the top of the water. We just have to turn it off and then on again and it goes back to work. The only other flaw is that it also gets stuck where the shallow end starts to slant to the deep end. We have to use a pole to push it and it goes on its way. We can not just plug it in and not watch it, but we can do lots of other yard and house work and just check on it every once in a while. So, even though it has these two flaws, I would definitely buy this again if we needed to. This is worth the money."

"So far this cleaner has been exactly as advertised. The first time i ran it the pool was really dirty so i had to run it twice. since then i have run it every other day and the pool is really clean. It does not do steps so i brush them first and the robo cleaner does the rest. Hopefully it lasts a long time. It is amazing how much is in that bag after each cycle."

"I purchased and returned a Robo-Kleen and a Pool Rover T Jr. because they could not climb out of the pool bottom. I have a combination pool with the top four feet above ground and the deep end in the ground. Both Robo-Kleen and Pool Rover T Jr were recommended for above ground pools. However, when they went into the hopper area, they could not climb back out. While the Nitro is designated for in ground pools, a customer service representative told me it would be OK for my pool. It has been a real lifesaver. The Nitro cleans the pool very well, covers the entire pool in a reasonable time, and its vacuum bag is large. It is easy to remove from the pool and cleaning the vacuum bag is a snap."

"Did a great job. Did not pick up dirt in pool corners or on edges of pool. Also had some granules off of my shingles in pool that it absolutely refused to pick up. I thought this was strange, because it picked up fine sand and small particles with ease. Also has a large bag to pick up leaves. Filter bag was easy to clean. Machine is made of cheaper plastic and does not appear real heavy duty. Only time will tell."

"First - I am using this cleaner in an application NOT recomended by the Manuf. ( Above Ground Pool )
That said - Best Cleaner I've Had. Scrubs the floor and picks up fine dirt. Light and EASY to remove from the pool. The filter bag is on a frame that is easy to remove and put back on. The bottom is easy to remove and reattach ( to gain access to filter bag ) Not sure how well it would do with the big stuff, but for dirt, its the best."
