"We purchased the chlorine generator with our first Intex metal frame pool. We have 4 children, not mentioning the adopted ones - their friends. We have constant traffic through the pool, I can keep the water crystal clear with very minimal effort. I have the timers set on the pump and the generator. All I have to do is boost every few days, depending on the traffic, and it looks and feels like we set it up for the first time. This is our second season, We have had no issues. I would and have recommended to everyone we know, and have had numerous friends purchase as well. I think this is the best thing ever for pools. No more red eyes. No more faded bathing suits. No more dry or irritated skin. NO MORE GREEN HAIR.. and easy upkeep."

Pros: Best Purchase Ever!!!! This product delivers as advertised. No problems at all
Cons: Have to buy a timer Plumbing to pump is weak it could break during set up.

"I bought this generator two years ago and love it! The pool doesn't give you the "red eye" and doesn't bleach out swimsuits. After a simple set up, it automatically keeps your water perfect. The electrode plates need cleaned more or less often depending on your water, but this is easily done with a soak in white vinegar and a spray with the garden hose."

"For 3 years I have used the softener salt method of chlorine generation. It keeps the water crystal clear and feels so soft throughout the summer. My first generator lasted 2 years and this new one has the protective cover over the controls and the self cleaning cycle for extended cell life which has been an improvement.

"I purchased one of these spring 2008. Did not use pool salt instead used water softener pellets. Make sure you get the bag that is just salt. It is cheaper then pool salt and works the same. This Chlorine Generator works great. Once I read the directions and added the amount of salt needed for my pool. Did not have to add any more salt all season long. Saves your expensive suits from getting faded and your hair changing colors from chlorine. Your going to love this product."

"We purchased the Intex Automatic Swimming Pool Chlorinator for a new above-ground pool this summer. After a bad experience a few years back with a too-small filter system for our last pool and the outrageous cost for chemicals needed to control algae, we hoped that the salt water system would be a better solution.
Kept the pool perfect all summer (You really have to test the water at regular intervals and adjust the run times accordingly... many factors influence chlorine consumption, no single setting will cover you all summer, unless you like "public pool" levels of chorine.) My kids swam a ton this summer, no funky hair color changes, no skin or eye irritation, no faded swimsuits... I loved not having to purchase/store/handle chorine... Would purchase again in a minute.
We couldn't be happier with the results. The chlorinator runs automatically for 4 hours a day and keeps the pool chlorine levels perfectly balanced. We haven't had to add any chemicals to the water at all and the kids say that the water doesn't hurt their eyes like the chemically chlorinated water did.
I would definitely recommend this system for anyone buying an above ground pool, or for anyone who is struggling to keep their above-ground pool clean and algea-free."
