Pros: Works well holds temp well
Cons: none so far
"Have had for about 3 months now. Works well to hold temp in pool overnight. Have had a few mid 60's nights and found that pool has not dropped more one or two degrees. Havae had no problems with bubbles popping or anything like that. Have had very good louck out of it so far."

Worst cover ever,

Pros: Nice the first year
Cons: Shreads after one year of use
"Do not buy this cover. I have had many covers and this is the worst one yet. I stored it rolled up with the protective covering and when I put it back on the pool this season the whole thing started to fall apart. I not only were there pieces of the brittle bubbles in the pool, I had chucks of the cover in the pool. As the days went by more & more of the cover shreaded. What a mess."

Pros: there arent any
Cons: falls apart after two years of minimal use
"I purchased this when the cheaper cover wasnt available and use it only a couple times a month.Stored it away under cover and didnt leave in sun but the little bubbles fell off all inside my pool. What a waste of money and my time to clean these things out of pool..Nothing like my original blue cover"

not worth the extra money,
June 23, 2009
By taliea

Pros: none
Cons: falls apart, doesn't roll up right, doesn't hold the heat.
"I decided to pay a little more for a heavier solar cover--what a mistake. I have only had this cover one season and it is falling apart. The little bubbles are coming off of it, and it is tearing in several places. It is also much heavier and does not go on the reel easily. It puckers, so I have to keep going to the other side to straighten it as I roll it up. Like many of the other reviewers, I had one of the blue solar covers before. It worked just fine, it just wore out. I also agree with the other reviewers that this cover does not hold the heat as well. I lose at least 2 degrees overnight when it is a warm night, and at least 4 degrees on a cooler night, and you must take it off during the day or you don't get as much heat from your solar panels. Don't waste your money."

12 Mil Solar Blanket,
June 21, 2009
By Caleb
from Sprig Lake NC
|
Pros: Keeps heat in and very nice material
Cons: Does not heat nearly as well as the blue one
"The material on this one "feels" so much stronger etc. than the 8 mil blue blanket. It keeps the heat in better at night, but does very little to warm the pool during the day. I now take the cover off during the day so the pool will warm better and put it on at night to keep the heat in.
If this material was darkened - it would be the perfect cover."

Pros: None
Cons: Does not work
"Spent more money hoping to get a liner that the little bubble does not come off of. The pool warms up better with this cover off. Don't waste you money. I am going back to the cheaper cover at least it works."

12 ml above ground solar cover,
December 15, 2008
By ladybug
from Cudahy, Wisconsin
|
Cons: Did not heat the pool nor keep the water warm in evenings
"I use an 8 blue solar cover for almost 10 years and the water was between 80 and 85 degrees on weeks of 80 degree temperature. I got the 12 ml silver this summer and the highest the water got was 80. Most of the summer it was in the 90's. Don't waste your money. Stay with the blue covers."

better than the really cheap one,
November 26, 2008
By suemppm
from Clear Lake, IA

Pros: very durable
"I have previously purchased the least expensive solar blanket and was not happy with it. This higher line solar blanket is the best for staying in place. We roll ours up as we get in the pool and this is thick enough that it is easy to roll by yourself and still get it to the edge of the pool."

waste of money,
September 24, 2008
By lndwelch
from Cloverdale, California
|
Pros: none
Cons: Falls apart/doesn't heat/ the plastic bubbles fall off
"We haven't had this cover for a complete season yet, and whenever I roll it off the pool it leaves behind hundreds of small round plastic pieces. It rips easily, and - minus the undersides of the bubbles - doesn't keep the heat in. Our original blue solar cover lasted three seasons - I think I'll go back to that one!"

Well worth the money,
July 8, 2008
By Anonymous
from Roy, UT

Pros: warms the water, keeps bugs out, very durable
Cons: heavy
"We have a 25 foot round above the ground pool and purchased this to go with it. It warms the water extremely well. We got in the pool last night at 8 pm and the water was over 85 degrees! (temp outside was around 90) I have an alarm in the pool and it is light enough to not set the alarm off but it is quite heavy to take off and put on the pool with one person. I would recommend purchasing a reel to go with it."

This Solar Blanket Will Not Heat Your Pool,
July 7, 2008
By Waterbug14
from Fairland, Indiana
|
Pros: None
Cons: Does not heat pool at all
"I purchased this cover because I wanted a bit more durability - living in the country with the wind can be tedious. Durability does not seem to be an issue - but the darn thing just does not heat the water period! It is early July - and our pool temperature has not increased whatsoever. I'm extremely disappointed. The blue cover does 10 times the heating job. Although our previous blue cover only lasted 2 seasons - it sure did heat our pool. I would highly recommend purchasing the blue cover - and simply replacing every 2 or 3 seasons - at least your pool will be heated to a comfortable temperature. P.S. We have NO trees blocking our pool."

This was the best purchase for a solar cover,
August 24, 2007
By cindy
|
Pros: This cover really did heat the water the warmest it has ever been for the suimmer.
"We have lots of trees around the property where the pool is, and this blanket warmed the water the best of any solar blanket we have ever purchased. We were very happy with this blanket. We live in WI and there are seasons where the weather is not very warm for the pool, then with the trees blocking a lot of the sun, this cover still worked great! Our pool was always in the high 80's with just the cover."

So far so Good !!,
August 22, 2007

Pros: Works.. and works very well
Cons: a little heavy
"Just bought this cover this summer. What a difference it makes. The water gets very warm when the sun is out. Doesnt make that much of a difference on a cloudy day, other than holding in some of the heat. The best part is.. I use Bacquacil in my pool The cover has allowed me to cut my chemical use in half! The cover keeps the sun from evaporating the water, and I have not had any algae problems since I installed the cover. It has almost paid for itself. I dont know if anyone else has experienced this.. but just keeping the Suns rays out of the water has really helped keep it sparkling. It is a little heavy, but my 13 year old son can remove and replace it on his own. (28' cover)"
