Pentair Clean and Clear Filter,

Pros: All in one unit, hassle free, powerful
Cons: Cheap plastic base and plastic relief valve
"Replaced 1HP and Doughboy Sequel II 24 sq ft DE filter. That filter was always caking and not powering suction cleaners enough. It was fine 5 years ago but progressively worse. I notice no difference in water clarity between the two. Now 1.5 HP,150 sq ft on 28 AG and I run it only 3 hours a day for twice turnover. Plenty of extra pool connection tubing that you can cut in pieces to size and keep some for later so do not buy any when ordering this. Connections are 1.5 inch.
Now, super power to run the Kreepy Krauly (Pentair) suction cleaner. No more backwashing many times at pool open or monthly. Hooked it up Memorial Day and it is now July 23 with hardly any pressure on gauge to clean the filter (1/3); should make it until Labor Day close without a problem. I have a fair (not huge) amount of leaves, bugs, helicopters, pine needles that get filtered/vacuumed. I vacuum it maybe once a week. Not sure how this will be longer term but the Kreepy Krauly had a 1 yr warranty part break and I had to call the warranty office 4 times until I got the replacement shipped free. They wanted me to pay for shipping!
I would definitely buy this (and the Krauly) again. Both fine products."

Pros: Easy to set up; easy to clean;keeps pool sparkling!
Cons: Not a single one
"We had a DE filter for years and it was a total headache. This cartridge filter and pump set make owning a swimming pool FUN! We have had more swimming time with no fuss since we bought this product. Don't skip it because of the price; you will save time, energy, and money with it."
