Pros: Everything fit as designed; no modifications.
Cons: Cheap plastic bolts to attach pump to base
"I was replaceing the exact same filter and pump after five years, so it was a snap. Make sure you use plenty of (Good Quality) Waterproof Silicon on the hoses when you attach them with the clamps. Also, use it on the threads of the fitings. Or you will have leaks. Buy real bolts to attach motor to base. Why they use cheap plastic, beats me."

Pros: Crystal Clear Water....
"I have a 16x48 Intex pool and have used the pumps with the filters for the last two years. I was tired of always changing the filters and all the chemicals that I went through. This pump has been a blessing to all that. I use less then half the chemicals and no more changing filters. This pump keeps my pool crystal clear and only have to vacume maybe once a week. Best purchase ever!!! Stop fighting the battle and enjoy the summer with a clean pool."

Pros: No filter changes, cleaner clearer water,
"I upgraded to this system and it is amazing how much easier it is to do the upkeep of the pool, my water is cleaner quicker and longer. I do not have to treat it as often as before upgrading and we are able to enjoy the pool more instead of just cleaning it all the time. Wonderful Wonderful Wonderful"

Pros: easy to put together
Cons: minor leakage at pipe connects {no pipe dope, used silicone tape, have to redo}
"just recieved pump, wife and i had together in less than an hour,doing a fine job, we think this is just we were looking for in a pool pump, looking forward to doing business with in the swim.com for many years to come, customer service was great, tracked our pump right to our front door, thank you, brian & kelly"

Pros: It takes less sand to operation
Cons: It requires backwashing and cleaning more often, and has less flow preasure into the pool.
"I have a 18' round above ground pool with approximately 8,000 gallons and this filter and pump combo is rated to be good for 16,800 gallons. It seems that I am always needing to back wash the filter to get the flow preasure into the pool up and then it is not as strong as it used to be with my old system. I do like the different setting that it has to offer. It was a little confussing at first do to my old system to run the vac was done on the back wash setting, but this system has a waste setting to be used instead."

"I fought with a cartridge filter for 18' pool for 2 years and this year i got this pump and filter system and am very pleased with it. It is quiet, and I don't have hardly any maintenence to my pool at all. I vacuum 1 maybe twice if it rains. Love it!!!!"
