Pros: no longer a need to lower pool water level
Cons: first time u must lower level below existing skimmer box
"with a small amount of lubricant seal the water is completely seal off to skimmer very easy to install; if possible purchase with guard (it replace the skimmer flap) this guard not available in-stores."

Pros: Real easy to install
Cons: Drain the water level to install
"Best time to install is in the fall or spring because your water level has to be lowered below the skimmer. Its the last time you ever have to lower the water lever. Well worth it. Dont for get to buy the guard cover for summer months to keep the floating toys out of the skimmer also."

Pros: Keeps the water out of the skimmer in the cold months
Cons: None
"I have owned a pool for 20 years, I have tried other types of lids for my skimmer in the past, and nothing snaps on and removes like this one. The other one never had a ring tab for removing the lid, this one even has an optional guard for the toys that get stuck in the skimmer. best one yet. Thank again."
