"This amazing little pump is powered by the force of water pressure from an ordinary garden hose. And unlike a siphon, the Miracle Mini Pump can actually pump uphill."

Pros: Simple to use
Cons: Freeze concern
"I have an in ground pool and a yard that slopes away from the pool. After a rainfall I start the Miracle Mini Pump by turning on my hose for just 30 seconds to get it started and it siphons the water off of my cover. To keep it clear of leaves I put the pump inside of a small cage (TrueValue bird feed block holder). I cut openings at either end for the hoses and put rocks in to hold it down. I am not sure if it can survive freezing cycles but I will leave it out for the winter and find out."

Pros: Cheap
Cons: Slow
"Finally I thought there was an inexpensive way to drain my pool cover. Living in the Pacific Northwest we get a lot of rain and it seems that I'm always having to drain off a couple of inches. Well I'm sure this is sucking some water out, but it's way to slow to do any real good. The advertisement says it will do 200 gallons per hour, well if that's true I would like to see under what conditions because there's no way that it drained 200 gallons during the 2+ hours that I used it. I would say it drained more like 10-20 at the most. YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR, and it's only $10.00 so that's what you get."
