"This skimmer is worth every penny spent on it! I have a dead corner in my pool where a lot of debris seems to gather. Well, not anymore! The skimmer is just amazing, it catches everything and it's very easy to install. Highly recommend it."

Pros: Catches about 70% of the floating debris Cons: Keeps loosening, screws rusted off completely
"When I first received and installed this item, well over 2 years ago it worked great. Over time it has become less and less effective at doing it's job. The screws have eventually rusted off. The mesh stocking has ripped so I use white knee high stockings on it. It loosens up all the time and flips over on it's own so I have to keep fixing it. I am debating whether I should buy a new one, but I'm upset that it did not hold up better."

"First of all I will tell you I am a skeptic when it comes to spending this much on something I've never actually seen. I WAS WRONG!! This thing is awesome. I have owned my AG 27' pool for about 5 years and have come accustomed to hand skimming the top of my pool when I would get in. I don't have any trees around but bugs and pollen are enough.
I don't have to do this anymore. I'm telling you all this thing is awesome. works great with little time to fit together. It always skims the surface with a great design and reaches out and pulls in debris. Just try it. I know you might think I sell these things , lol but I am just a convinced customer. Just as you will be."

"WOW! This little invention has added hours to my swim-time! You literally can eliminate the need for skimming the surface! It sucks debris into the top chamber and puts it in a very easy to remove and clean net. We just experienced the after effects of hurricane Ike last night, and this skimmer removed ALL of the floating leaves and debris with 2 hours from a 18'x37'x29' lagoon pool. It is fun to watch and one of the best little inventions I have ever seen. I want to hug the person that spent the money to get this thing on the market. THANK YOU!"

Pros: Pulls debris from 3/4 of the surface of my pool Cons: can get knocked out of position by an automatic pool cleaner
"I am busy. I don't have time to try to skim my pool every day, or even every other day. After I got this thing, I don't have to even try. It does an excellent job of pulling the floating stuff into it from well over 3/4 of my pool surface, and I have a 38 x 20 peanut shaped pool. When a leaf falls into the pool, you can watch as it is pulled toward the skimmer. It doesn't wander over, it is really pulled over and into the skimmer. I am constantly amazed at the amount of stuff I empty out of the bag, and shudder to think that all used to end up on the bottom of my pool, eating my chlorine, until I found time to use the suction head and vacuum it out. This thing is great.
The only problem I have is that my automatic pool cleaner can knock it out of level, and has even bumped it hard enough so that the return jet is spraying up onto the pool deck. Wish there was some way of tightening it so that it couldn't get knocked loose."

Pros: With adequate pressure works great at pulling in leaves and debris. Cons: Odd size adapters make it difficult to mount to standard 1.5" PVC pipe.
"I purchased this item about three years ago when the price was a reasonable $45.00. Today's $89 price tag seems a bit unreasonable for what it is. Three pieces of plastic and a small filter bag. It does work well when given enough return water pressure. I've added a Skim It to my skimmer and Pool Skim to further aid in guiding debris into the Pool Skim."

"We had been searching for a product that would assist in keeping our pool clean. Living in the desert with monsoons and dust storms, we continually had issues with daily skimming of our pool. This product has virtually elminated that need! YEA!!! We are extremely pleased with the product. Our pool was built in the late 70's and installation on our pool was not difficult at all. I would highly recommend this cleaner to everyone!"

"After doing a little bit of improvisation with this great contraption, I got it installed and working. It took a little bit of work to do it because I did not find the directions and diagrams of the parts very clear. That was the only grope I had.
I live in a forest and my pool is right in the middle and surrounded by lots of different trees. This creates a situation that requires a lot of clean-up. I love this thing because it really does the job right."

Problem with Metric Fittings,June 8, 2008

"I purchased this to plume into a separate pump that I bought just for cleaning my 20x40 pool. This separate system has 1 1/2 inch PVC, however, the fiting provided in the kit are metric (50 mm). Inasmuch, I can't connect this to my separate pump system with anything that I can buy off the shelf. The Hom Depot doesn't carry metrix PVC and I am not sure who does. Probably works great if you attached to an existing return, but thta is not what I had in mind."

"What a great product, I have a 24' x 40' inground pool and have always had floating debris from maple trees... manually skim for several days, not anymore. This product does an excellent job. Only thing I added was a small weight into the mesh basket to keep it underwater and help with the possibility of loosening itself from the pool."

"We bought a house with a pool, and the first owners had put it UNDER A TREE!!! Well last fall was very bad but we got it closed. When we open it for the year it was even worse! All of the buds off the tree are falling right in the pool. I skim it every day clean my filter every 2 hrs. it is that bad. I see this and think. "it could not hurt" put it on last night" saw results right away!! went out 2hrs later to clean filter, did not need to!! Next morning pool was clean!!!!!!! This is SO worth the money!!!"

"Excellent product! Worth every penny of the $80 i paid for it. I have a summer home with a 24' above ground pool which is unattended for days at a time. Late summer leaves were a real problem and would clog the skimmer to the point of impairing pump operation. No more. The PoolSkim does excellent job of catching floating leaves and keeps them in the large net collection bag. Leaves and debris can't float out even when my pump, which is wired to a timer, cycles off. After installing PoolSkim and leaving pool unattended for 1 week, i returned to only a couple of small leaves in bottom of pool. Amazing! At this time of year the bottom would usually be covered with leaves. PoolSkim also does much better job of keeping surface clean of bugs than my main skimmer. The 'floating hat' design adjusts to water level even after heavy rains and the tiny 'hose bumper' that is provided keeps automatic vacuum hose from becoming entangled. I have spent $100's on disappointing devices for the pool in the 8 years i've owned it. PoolSkim is by far the best engineered pool product i've ever purchased. It exceeded my expectations. Highly recommended."

Pros: Skims even when the water level gets too high for the regular skimmer Cons: Bag is more of a chore to clean than the regular skimmer basket
"With a 16 x 32 above ground pool we have issues with the water level during rainy times. When the water is overflowing the pool skimmer doesn't always get all the floating debris. After a storm there are usually a lot of leaves and most of them just float on by the skimmer. Now PoolSkim catches them. It also seems to circulate the water in the pool more efficiently than the old return did. The only issue is it is kind of a messy job to clean the bag. To get it clean you pretty much have to turn it inside out which requires inserting your arm and getting into the debris inside the bag."

"We have a 20x 40 gunnite pool with a single skimmer. This product really helps with surface debris. It's design also redirects our water flow for a more favorable pattern in regards to our built in skimmer. We have no trouble using our polaris 380 with this product. Great for pools that have heavy debris exposure or inadequate skimmer design."

"This product works as well as advertised. We have a 20x40 pool in a fairly wooded backyard. There are always bugs floating on the surface. Before I got this product, I would have to go and skim the pool before my wife and daughter would go in. Now the surface is always crystal clear, even after mowing/landscaping. An additional benefit is that there is less stuff entering the pool skimmers resulting in less cleaning of my DE filter. The only con is that I have to take the pool skim off before I put in my Dolphin robot pool cleaner otherwise it knocks it around. Not really a big deal. Overall, a great product and I highly recommend it."

"We have a very old concrete pool with no coping or skimmers. We had to surface rake at least daily (more often when windy) and run our robot full-time. We have tried other "floating skimmers" attached to the vacuum line, with zero success. All required that we remove our robot.
Since installing PoolSkim, we surface rake only on the windiest days. This is terrific!."

"I have a 40k gallon salt pool with 5 water returns supplying water back to pool. The PoolSkim attaches to a single water return. PoolSkim includes a small plastic plate to block a second water return to increase pressure but I have 5 returns and require even circulation of water throughout my large pool. I was not able to get enough return water pressure from 1-2 returns to create the pressure needed to induce down flow of water into the PoolSkim. Good design, probably works great on smaller pools or pools with 1-2 returns only. Also the supplies screws were great for one time use, but when I had to loosen and readjust the components for proper height the Phillips screw head stripped out."

"I bought the item since every time I would cut the grass I would spend hours skimming grass clippings out of the pool. With this product, by the time I put the lawn mower away, the pool is free of debris, it works great."
