Less electric is continuous savings!, July 26, 2009

Pros: This pump has great pumping characteristics.
Cons: Funny looking but who cares.

"I replaced my hayward super 2 pump which was 1.5 horsepower. I caught the 1 horsepower northstar on sale 10 dollars cheaper than I could get my replacement super 2 so it was a no brainer. Easy installation I really like the unions on inlet and the outlet makes for easy removal. After it was up and running nice and quiet. I hooked up an amp probe to the pump and using 5.6 amps now we are really talking that is nearly 25% less power consumption than my super 2. So I should be seeing some nice savings month by month. The large basket is much easier to work with than my super 2. I would highly recommend this pump and if caught on sale it is an exceptional value."

Great Pump, November 28, 2008
By MgKenny from Sunrise, FL (read all my reviews) (read all my reviews)

Pros: Easy install
Cons: Haven't found any

"I purchased this pump from this site and it was delivered quickly. It was easy to install as the setup on this pump uses unions instead of thread in fittings. Pump (2HP Model) moves more water than my previous 2 HP pump and does so quietly. The large leaf basket is a plus as it keeps ME from having to empty it as opposed to my pool man. All in all, I would recommend this pump to anyone who is in need."
