Pros: worked well for 2 years Cons: difficult to lift out of pool
"Worked well for the first 2 summers but then slowly died. Although it did a good job cleaning those first 2 years, I won't buy another. I think it was pretty expensive for a "2 year cleaner." It was easy to use but after it filled with water, it was too heavy for me, a small woman to lift out of the pool...even letting the water drain out didn't seem to make it light enough for me to lift out. I'd like to try a cleaner that hooks up to my existing pump next time...less parts to break down and better suction."

"Robo-Kleen is a great automatic pool cleaner. Just put it in and it does the job. It gives us more time for fun and less time having to clean the pool. The only problem, is that it sometimes get stuck on the bottom of the pool, but all you have to do is pull the line a bit and it will start moving again. I think it gets stuck, because our pool does not have a flat bottom.I would definitely recommend buying this product, especially from In The Swim!"

"As I did & do love this product, it seems it did not last too long. I bought it in June 2008 & by July of 2009 it had a slow death. It started out this summer working great... but as mentioned in an earlier note, you would have to "nudge" it to get it moving. I purchased it last year for $349 & thinking it was a great produt. I just ended my 1 yr warranty & then it stopped working altogether. Now I ordered another one from a closer location & just paid $399 for it. Now I see the site has it for $249, so I was highly disappointed. But we will see how the product works next summer."

"This was my favorite item ever...for 2 summers. The third summer, it started out great then seemed to die a slow death. The machine would make a pass or two, then the wheels would stop. The fan was still going and the passes it made were clean. I would have to "babysit" the machine and give it a nudge with each pass: It would make a pass and stop. Nudge, pass, stop, etc. Became more work than vacuuming the pool myself. For the price, I had hoped it would last more than two summers."

Pros: No need to hook up to the skimmer Cons: Could use replaceable brushes, actually if it had a brush instead of flaps would be even better
"I had it for about a week and used it to do the initial cleaning for the season. Worked surprisingly well. Picked up leaves and other debris. Water temperature is about 84 so I think that might have helped to keep the electric cord flexible enough not to tangle. Used it for a couple of days every day and the pool is almost sparkling clean. The flaps or brushes are not effective enough to actually scrub the liner so I had to do that manually. It's fairly easy to clean the collector. It holds a lot and you might not have to empty it after every use. I have a problem storing the unit. Where I live we get temps above 90 and below 40 which are the limits for storage and usage. Can't use my pool house, have to take it indoors."

"I bought the Robo Kleen about a month ago and am thrilled. I am very particuliar about the cleanliness of my pool and had to spend half of every Saturday morning vacuuming --my pool is surrounded by trees (my whole yard is full of trees). Now, my husband (who never wanted to have much to do with cleaning the pool), puts Robie in on Friday and the pool is sparkling clean when I get home from work. Great product."

Pros: I like that it doesn't get hooked up to the filter. Cons: Gets stuck. Lasted a year, then stopped working.
"It gets to a point in my oval pool and gets stuck. The wheels spin, but it no longer moves. If I don't babysit the cleaner, then the bottom of the pool doesn't get clean.
In the 2nd year, the fan used to pull the water in, stopped spinning. I opened up the cleaner and found that water had seeped into the motor. I dried it out, put it back together, then the fan started working again (only for a handful of cleanings, then it stopped again)."

"We have had this Robo Klean for 3 years. We never have to hand vacuum anymore. It is incredible. Only drawback is NEVER leave it sitting out in the sun as the plug in will melt. I always use it and after it stops pull it out and store out of the direct sun.
It is fantastic"

"Just got my Rob Kleen the other day and after reading a lot of bad reviews I wanted to send it back, but went ahead and accepted delivery. So far it does a good job cleaning, but I have to check on it frequently. The cord gets twisted and has to be untwisted, it frequently tips over on it's back when it get to a wall and the cord also faded and turned my hand yellow. You also have to use something to hook is side handles to bring it up. On the bright side it does seem to do a good job cleaning."

"We love our "Roberto" lol as we have fondly called him, he does a great job. We turn him on, and he is quiet as he works and is done within 2 hours time. No more hassles with getting in to vacuum the pool or hook up to the skimmer. Saves time, now if we could find one that did that on the top, we would be set."

"I have to stay with it because it constantly gets stuck on the main drain and I have to pull it off. Otherwise, it works great. I purchased the unicover, but it still got stuck and pulled the cover off when I had to pull off the vacuum. This is a minor problem, it just doesn't free me up to do other things. I would recommend this product."

"Nothing to setting up unit, just drop in, plug in and turn on. If your pool bottom is fairly dirty be prepared to have to clean the collection bag 2 or 3 times on your initial run. Cleans even the finest dust particles. We live in a rural area with alot of farming so dust is a BIG problem.Very happy with purchase. Now I can enjoy the pool rather than clean it all the time."
