Works with Zero Effort,
June 23, 2009
By Blade

|
Pros: Ease of use.
Cons: Price.
"Removed stain from my vinyl pool with no effort other than sprinkling over water. Can be used alone, without scrubbing or Metal Free, as long as your PH level is on the money. If PH is low, your chance of developing another stain is high. Dropping the chlorine level is no problem. Just wait until the end of your weekly maintenance routine and add the Stain Free first. Once stain is gone, (for me the next day) just add your chlorine tablets and shock your pool."

This Stuff Works !!!,
June 22, 2009

Pros: Ease of Application
Cons: None
"I had conceded to the fact that I was going to have to purchase a new pool liner due to severe staining caused by the combination of a cheap algecide and well water. In a final last ditch effort I decided to try this product. I poured one container of Stain Free and one hour later I added a bottle of Metal Free. I was skeptical at first but when I went out the next morning (8 hours later) there was a noticeable difference. After 24 hours all signs of staining were gone from the skimmer, steps, and the liner. This product saved me $600. I am a believer in this stuff!!!"

Finally Something that works!,
June 17, 2009

Pros: It actually removed most of the stain
Cons: Like most stain removers you must lower chlorine to very low levels
"I have tried other stuff before, including E-Z Stain Remover from In the Swim with limited success. Most stuff would just remove the stain where the concentrate hit the sides of the pool, but not do much for the rest of the sides and bottom. When I dumped in the Stain Free (followed by Metal Free an hour later), the initial results looked the same. After 24 hours there was not much improvement. But, after 48 hours almost all staining was removed. My liner is over 10 years old and my city's water comes from wells. Even though they filter it it is high in iron. As a result, our liner was a dingy brown all over with some areas showing heavier staining. I'd say this eliminated about 90% of the problem. I hope a second dose when we open up next year will be even better."

Best Purchase Ever,

Pros: Works like magic
"Bought this product the first time last year when the steps and everything in our 18x36 vinyl liner pool turned brown.Spent hundreds of dollars at local pool store but nothing worked. Poured Stain Free into the pool and before our eyes the steps turned white. We had been told we would have to drop the water level below the steps and use a very strong chemical to remove the stain. What a shock to see the stain gone before our eyes. We had a few tablespoons left over this year. When I forgot to add the metal treatment before shocking the stain returned. I thought I would pour that little bit in and order more. I was amazed that a less than half cup of the stuff turned the steps white again. Next morning all stains were gone. Apparently it does not take much on fresh stains. An amazing product."

Waste of 55.00,

Pros: None
Cons: Didnt remove any stains, severly clouded water
"Followed the water balancing directions to a T. Had my water professionally tested before using product to make sure chemical ranges were within what the product required. Started with stain free, then 1 hour later added metal free as directed. Absolutely NOTHING in the pool was cleaned, except the water went from perfectly clear to cloudy. I will be writing this company a letter asking for an explanation on this one.
Dont waste 55.00 on these two products!"

Pros: Works great
Cons: NONE
"I have a vinyl liner that was stained brown. I tried everything including brushing. I bought Stain Free and dumped the container into the pool and then scrubbed it a bit as per the instructions....Nothing happened. I laughed and thought I had thrown more money away on another bad product. The next morning I woke up and went out to the pool. It was sparkling clean. I was floored. This actually works. I would recommend it to anyone who would like to remove stains."

Works like a charm!,

Pros: does what it says
Cons: none that I have found
"Last year I had the worst brownish-orange stains all over the sides and bottom of my pool. I researched the heck out of it on the internet and found some website that said if a crushed vitamin C tablet rubbed on the stain makes it come out, then it is a mineral stain. But then it gave some crazy instructions for treating the whole pool. After some more research, I came upon Stain Free, which is "Vitamin C for your pool". It works FAST and effectively and completely ridded my pool of the stain (that had been there for several weeks) within a few hours. It has worked just as well at removing leaf stains (from when leaves sit at the bottom of the pool too long). I love this stuff, just wish it came in a bigger container. I would love to buy it in bulk!"

Stain Free! A Miracle!,
November 27, 2008
By ChrisP

Pros: Instantly removes all iron stains, just sprinkle in
Cons: does not remove iron from water, just removes the stains for a couple of days.
"Yellow stains on all white areas of the pool are instantly brought back to brilliant white after sprinkling Stain Free into the water. Although it does a fantastic job removing the stains, it does not remove the iron or metal from the water. You have to find another product that will remove the metal from the water. So far, I haven't found that product. Stain Free is $10 cheaper from In The Swim than at any retailer in my area."

Best Stain Removal Product On The Market,
November 27, 2008
By jukeboxrick

Pros: No work necessary just pour the product in the Pool
Cons: None
"I've used different products to get rid of stains in our fiberglass pool and none of them worked until I found Stain Free. I use it a little different than the instructions say and it worked great for me. I used a small cup and just went around our pool at the water line tapping out a little of the Stain Free against the side all around the pool. Then I used a garden hose and sprayed around the pool to make sure all the Stain Free was washed down the side's. Then I watched in amazement as the stains started streaking down the sides. I then sprinkled the rest of the Stain Free in the deep end of our pool and on the steps in the shallow end. It didn't take anytime at all and all of the stains were gone in our pool and believe me I didn't think anything would get the stains out. This product is great but be sure to use a metal product to keep the stain from coming back."

Pros: Fast acting. Doesn't screw up chemical balance.
Cons: A bit expensive
"Over the years I have used numerous products to eliminate stains in fiberglass pool. Somebody told me about "Stain Free" and I gave it a try. Wow, was I impressed. Even though it is a bit expensive, it is well worth the money. I have no idea how it would work on a concrete pool, but for fiberglass it works GREAT!!!"

Really Works,

Pros: It's good
Cons: follow directions to a t
"We bought this product twice. The first time, we shocked the pool after the stain was removed, and it came right back. After calling the company, I was told not to shock but to gradually increase the chlorine until it was at the correct level. If you follow directions exactly, this is a great product. You have to be exact on the chemical levels in order for it to work."

This Stuff Really Works on Fibergalss Pools,
September 10, 2008
By vtskiman

Pros: Easy to use, good price from ITS, a no-brainer
Cons: NON
"This stuff really work super well on our white fiberglass inground pool. Our dogs use the pool a lot and the oils off their coat added a slight dingle to the walls and steps. Plus the added use of kids didn't help. I put this stuff in, waited over night, and WOW! A super white like new pool. Kudos to this product. I bought enough for the next several years in case this stuff gets hard to find."

Thoroughly impressed,

Pros: Did what it said it would
Cons: Wish I would have ordered another bottle
"I was reading the reviews regarding this product and decided to try it out. I have some serious stains in the bottom of my inground pool (16x32). These stains have been in my pool for the last 3 years and each year they seem to multiply. I've tried everything and even went underwater holding my breath as long as possible to try and scrub these stains out. I was getting pretty upset that nothing seemed to work. A few hours after using this product I noticed that 95 % of the stains in the deep end were gone. I still have a little bit of a stain in one of the corners and am wondering if that would come out with another bottle or the metal remover. Anyway, I'd definitely recommend this product to others."

Pros: This product did exactually what it claimed to do and more. The cost is very affordable, no spot stain testing.
Cons: None!
"We have well water which has iron. Our fiberglass pool loves to collect the iron and turn brown. After investing 100's of dollars in our local pool supplier's products I decided to try 'Stain Free'. I applied as directed I stood and watched as the staining disappeared. 'Stain Free' is all it claims to be and more. Amazing, truly amazing. At last crystal clear sparking water for a great price too. I now keep this product on hand at all times. Love it!"

Pros: Super easy to use
Cons: Buy more than you think you need for best results!
"We bought a forclosed home and the pool hadn't been opened in two summers. It took us about a month to clean all the gunk out of the pool, but we just couldn't get the stains out of the liner. I read all the reviews before purchasing this product and was a little skeptical about the product's claims. I let half the summer pass before finally it, and was amazed when it really worked as claimed! Don't put off buying this - it really works!"
