Going back to blue, October 12, 2008
By Sachs from Iowa

Cons: Bubbles popping after only two months

"I thought this would be a higher quality than the blue covers. Big mistake. Don't waste your money on this cover. Sending it back after only one summer."

Don't Do It, September 20, 2008
By ShawnM from Johnstown, PA

Pros: thick
Cons: Heavy, not transparent

"Doesn't let the sun through. Heavy. Don't waste your money. It's no better than a basic cover, in fact it's worse."

Worst cover ever, August 9, 2008
By Sugar from Gregory, MI

Pros: none
Cons: very heavy, falls apart, doesn't heat!

"I thought "costs more, must be the best" I cannot handle it by myself-it takes 2, it broke my solar real, all the plastic on the bubbles is falling off, and it isn't heating, only holding the heat overnite. I only used it for one full summer and this year it is falling apart, holes and rips from it being "hard to handle". I have had pools for 20 yrs with the old blue covers....guess I will go back to that!"

Pros: Heavy duty material
Cons: Doesn't last as long as warranty

"Have purchased this cover twice and the durability is poor. After three seasons the seams are tearing apart. It has become very brittle. I am going back to the 12 mil and try it. Very disappointed in this product for the initial cost. You would think I would learn."

Doesn't last, June 18, 2008
By JET22 from Bartlett, IL

Pros: heavy duty
Cons: heavy & dryrot

"The cover is very heavy to move. It performed well last season, but when I un-rapped it from winter storage it was dryed up and falling apart. I have had economy covers in the past that lasted minimally 3 seasons. Would not spend the extra money for it."

Ok so far, June 14, 2008
By jmsimo33 from NE PA

Pros: Seems to do a good job holding temp at night
Cons: Does not heat much in daytime

"This cover is a mystery. I love the durability of it as I think it will hold up a long time. It appears to do well holding the temp at night but like others, I have not noticed much daytime heating even with hours of full sun. It appears that those that purchased the 12 mil cover have noticed much better daytime heating."

Terrible purchase, May 16, 2008
By fishoutofwater from Atlanta, GA

"I will not buy this again. This is the second season I've use this and again I'm total dissatisfied. I removed it and buy pool was warmer. I'm buying a heater and will use it with it. Maybe it will work. I hope so or I'll have to buy another one. Please give me some advise to save money."

"Thumbs Down", September 16, 2007
By Tex7

Pros: Appears durable...
Cons: Didn't help much...

"Have used less expensive solar covers before which quickly fell apart so I thought I'd try the "Diamond Series"...After one week of 90+ days with the solar blanket on, the water was toasty warm for about 6-10 inches deep...Below that, the water temp appeared to be cooler than usual...Perhaps from the thicker blanket, the sun was not allowed to penetrate down much...After the blanket was removed for a few minutes, the warm temp surface water seemed to disappear right away back into the air so the actual benefits of the blanket appeared to be minimal to none...I am sending it back and ordering a cheaper "blue" model..."

Not a good buy, August 10, 2007
By pmswim

Pros: Does heat pool well and keeps heat in
Cons: Heavy, hard to handle, water got in between layers

"This blanket does heat the pool well, and keep the heat in. But it is very heavy and hard to handle! I tore a hole in it when trying to put it on the first time (like I said, this thing is HEAVY). It is not sealed at the edges, so water got in between the layers, which made it almost impossible to handle (we have a 24' round pool). For some reason it seems that the rain water does not evaporate off it as quickly as it did with our prior cover. I am going to purchase a cheaper, lighter cover for next year!"

Worst pool purchase ever, July 31, 2007
By upset

Pros: Holds the temperature
Cons: doesn't heat

"This pool cover is the worst product I ever purchased for my pool. The water temperature has not risen at all and ever since we used this cover we have been fighting a battle with algae."

Dissatisfied, July 7, 2007
By KyLee

Pros: Heavy duty and will probably outlast most other covers
Cons: Does not warm the water as much as other covers.

"First, there are no instructions for this cover which leaves you guessing as to which side is up. Unlike other covers that we have used, this has a clear side on the top with the bubble side being the aluminized side. Second, there does not appear to be a good exchange of heat to the water during even the hottest or sunniest of days. It's almost as if the cover is actually reflecting the sun away from the water. Third, I expected better performance for the price, but we have used more economical covers that warmed the water more efficiently. I fully expect our pool season to be shortened as a result."

Bad Buy, June 30, 2007
By Unhappy

Pros: Keeps leaves and sticks out of the pool
Cons: Excessive weight and does not help heat the pool

"I regret buying the highest mil offered. The blanket is so heavy and stiff that it is very difficult to take off
or get it on the pool. The sun is not allowed to go through the lining to heat the water, so our pool is colder than when we don't have the cover on at all. I will go for the cheap clear cover next time."

Not bad!, June 20, 2007
By SummerGirlNY from Rochester, NY

Pros: Really heavy and able to withstand alot of pulling and tugging
Cons: Very hard to roll up on our reel, and it doesn't fit the pool surface as well as other covers have

"The cover does live up to the hype of being strong, but so far, I haven't noticed any difference in heat retention and there has been a definite lack of heat transfer from the sun during the day. I think it might work better on a pool that was 48" high better than on ours which is 52" because only the very top of the water is warmer after a full day of sun. It does a much better job at retaining heat at night! One thing I have noticed is that while the cover is light in color, leaves etc don't stick and stain it like they can on other solar blankets."
