Pros: did its job of keeping the pool warmer Cons: Hexagon plastic bubbles began to shed
"After 1 1/2 years, the plastic bubbles surface layer started to come off the cover and release into my pool. Aggravating to say the least. In the Swim will replace the pool cover at no cost to me, but I wonder if the same problem will reoccur. I will give follow up when appropriate."

It's without rival,August 4, 2009
By JANJOKfrom Lansing, Mi
Pros: It's true that kept the chemicals for more time, the temp of water increases dramatically Cons: none
"In Pros is all ready explained what we all know, but I would say something that experience by myself, water evaporates less and I don't have to fill up the swimming pool so often, the bottom is dirty less because the pool being cover so now It is not necessary cleaning so often, both are two sources of savings more."

Pros: keeps my water and chemicals from evaporating, and keeps my pool warn, never have to use my heater Cons: none

Half Satisfied,July 28, 2009
By SwimUnderStarsfrom Grafton, MA
Pros: Warranty service is superb Cons: Not very warming, clunky to move
"Blue cover that came with the pool heated better than this one and lasted more seasons. The first one of these lasted one season. The second season the cover started bubbling on the top and collected rain water in the bubbles and was really heavy to move. It flaked all over the pool and was a real mess. Warranty service sent me a replacement and so far so good with the flaking, however the pool isn't really warming much. IntheSwim customer service is really good."

Clear cover,July 27, 2009
By arichmanfrom San Francisco, CA
Pros: Great to heat a pool or to retain heat Cons: Large covers can be a little hard to handle
"I purchased a clear cover this season and not only has it retained my pool heat during the evening. It used to drop almost 5 degrees. No more! Also it has eliminated the use of my solar panels this summer. The clear covers are so efficient I get up to 5 degrees of temperature rise even on cool days. I have not used my solar roof panels once this summer, simply by using the solar cover on, off, or partially on the pool. You must use a reel. It also keeps the evaporation at a minimum, the pool clean, and the chemical usage low. These are truly amazing! I was fool without one! Well worth the investment. I recommend 16 mil or thicker otherwise you will be buying one every other season."

Best solar cover ever,July 25, 2009
By OldLady1from New Hampshire
Pros: Really retains and builds heat in our pool
"Have used several solar covers over the past years but this , by far, is the very best we have ever used. Heat retainage is superior as well as the sun on the blanket increasing the degree of the water."

Free heated water,July 18, 2009
By Pooldog
Pros: Works as adverstised Cons: Toads can get under cover and drown.
"Do not have to add water every 2 days. Water temp is 86, no heat from gas. Was spending $200+/month on gas. Chemicals stay in pool. Recommend use of real with covers for easy removal and deployment."

Excellent Product,July 18, 2009
By Lawrencefrom Pennsylvania
Pros: Eliminates most debris, raises water temp, decreases chlorine loss Cons: None
"This is the second solar cover I have had from In The Swim and it is very durable and lasts beyond the warranty. It raises water temp quickly and reduces chemical loss. It is light weight and easy to handle. I use a reel and cover between uses and for winter storage. Extremely pleased with this cover."

Best Solar Cover,July 18, 2009
By m8s4everfrom Danville, CA
Pros: Very heavy duty compared to aluminized covers I've purchased in the past Cons: None so far...haven't had it thru it's first season yet
"Great aluminized heavy duty cover for reasonable price...comes with In-the Swim's wonderful pro-rated guarantee that can't be beat in the industry...if it fails during the warranty period, it is pro-rated...and that credit is applied to a new cover, and the new cover is shipped free of charge !"

Top of the line - in my book!,July 11, 2009
By Lynnzblufrom Elyria, OH
Pros: Very thick and durable Cons: It doesn't scare the birds away...
"This is an excellent solor cover - the best one that we've ever purchased. Not only does it hold the heat in the pool, but it also cuts way down on chlorine usage and gas for heating the pool.
The only down side is that it doesn't scare the birds away and they continue to use our solar cover as a restroom. Each time we uncover our pool, we must hose off the reel as we roll it up. (any suggestions?)
Thank you - In The Swim! You're my favorite on-line pool supply store!"

Pretty Good cover,June 16, 2009
By Travisfrom Panama, NE
Pros: Heats well and is not flaking... yet Cons: ??
"Pretty pleased with this cover. I've had this one going on my third season. I only use it late April to early June and most of September. I keep it in the (unheated) garage for months I don't use it. I've had the blue ones and seemed to replace them every year. Happy customer so far!"

Not Perfect - but helps,May 26, 2009
By RickAfrom Westchester, NU
Pros: Definitely warms pool; lowers chemical usage Cons: tears and breaks down
"I am in season three on this cover, and it will have to be replaced next year. It is my second cover, the previous was the cheaper blue variaety. This product helps on several fronts; First, it certainly warms the pool - understand the physics - evaporation cools things - period (that's how airconditioning works). By preventing the evaporation warmth is retained. Sunlight (not heat) tend to use up chlorine. I have halved my chlorine consumption with this product. Third, it keeps debris off the pool (somewhat). If you leave some space from the edge to the reel, you can sweep the cover as you reel it in. Lastly, I have a shallow well and cannot easily refill; the loss in evaporation has saved me a few truckloads of water at about $500 a pop.
On the downside, the sun breaks down the cover. You will note that the first few feet tends to break down first as it is exposed even when reeled up. They tend to tear. I suggest covering the solar blanket when it is reeled up. Buy a top-grade reel so that you apply less resistance when pulling it out or have someone turn the wheel. This will help avoid tears. Overall, with some minor extra effort, you will a have a warmer pool and save on gas, chemicals, and water. Last year I did not use my gas heater and got the temp into the low 80's."

Worst cover ever,May 17, 2009
By Dogpoolfrom Fall City, WA
Cons: Really poor product overall
"I have received 2 of these covers. The first one was cut incorrectly and wouldn't roll up properly. The second one was supposed to have been cut correctly but I fight with it just about every time I roll it up. I have had the second one about 6 months and it is already starting to flake.
I would not recommend this product at all."

Big Waste Of Money,April 12, 2009
By MNPoolfrom Minnesota
Pros: Nothing Cons: Does Not Work
"This cover will NOT warm your pool. The pool warms better with the cover off than with the cover on. Not only did we waste 215.00 on the cover, the attachment kit and the protective tarp, but we probably spent at least another 300.00 dollars on gas to warm up the pool. This cover does Not work at all. BIG waste of money. The Blue one is thinner and falls apart after a season and a half, but at least it actually warms the pool."
