Saved a Ton of cash,
July 23, 2008
By Anonymous Reviewerfrom NE Ohio
Pros: Quick shipping; great over all cover Cons: Hard to roll in.
"We were going to purchase the 12mil, but it was on backorder and after receiving an estimate to fix our gas heater we opted to order the 16 mil. It heated up 10 degrees within a week. In addition, we saved an entire month of gas budget cost and projected to save close to $500.00 this year alone. We felt even if we had to buy a new one every 3 years it was well worth it."

Poor Purchase,
July 22, 2008
By Anonymous Reviewer
Pros: None Cons: Fell apart in less than 2 yrs
"This cover didn't even last a full 2 yrs. the air pockets popped off and plugged strainer. Blanket is poorly constructed, separated, doesn't heat pool at all, had better luck with the blanket off during sunny days. What a mess...."

solar waranty?,
June 12, 2008
By jackfrom California
Pros: great solar blanket for limited time Cons: 8 year waranty lasted only 3 years
"8 year waranty on a solar blanket lasted only 3 years when the layers separted and absorbed so much water we could not remove it without extreme difficulty from pool. Have asked In The Swim for a replacement"

Not what I had in mind,
August 15, 2007
By goldenboy
Pros: Heavy Duty. Good heat retention at night. Cons: Poor heating capability on sunny days.
"If you live in a warm climate and just want a cover to keep in the heat at night, this works great. It's horrible at heating the water on a sunny day. Probably because it's so heavy. My old crumbling blue cover did a much better job heating up the pool. I actually get better results heating up the pool on a sunny day with the cover off! If you are looking for a cover to heat your pool water, look at something different."

I love it!,
August 10, 2007
By prima
"This is the 3rd type of solar blanket we have owned. Being clear, I haven't had the cells cracking due to excess heat problem, AND I can see thru it somewhat, which I like. 'don't know if this is typical, but this blanket is a bit wider than the prior ones (we ordered for a 16 X 32 pool), which is GREAT. The blanket goes up the side of the pool a bit on each side, keeping water off the blanket and allowing me to (gently) sweep leaves, etc. into a pile, then throw them into my leaf, etc. bucket BEFORE rolling blanket off pool, thus saving a bunch of skim time. Of course, it's also warming our water/preserving heat and keeping stuff out of the pool."

High Quality Pool Cover,
August 9, 2007
By DMGMIfrom Grand Haven, MI
Pros: Lower cost to heat Cons: Size misnomer
"After learning how to properly install a pool cover (call to learn more) I bought the right size and fitted this product to the point that the pool is totally covered and retains heat far better."

Review 9 for Diamond Series Ultra Clear Aluminized 16-Mil. Solar Blankets (in-ground)
"I'm probably getting what I want, a durable solar cover. But I don't believe it heats as good as the darker colored covers and it does bow my commercial grade solar reel quite a bit."

"Sliding scale" warranty,
July 25, 2007
By Swimmingfrom Portland, Oregon
Pros: Warms water and minimizes evaporation Cons: Showing signs of wear after 1 month
"This pool cover doesn't lay flat on the water after only one month of Oregon sun. The seams have not expanded with the rest of the cover. The warranty is only a 2 year warranty, with 60% replacement value year 3 and only 5% year 8."

Good solar cover!,
July 20, 2007
By Davidfrom southeast Michigan
Pros: lightweight, fast water temperature warm up Cons: was slightly larger than desired size
"A couple of sunny days in the early spring with this cover made the pool usable right away, plus it helps keep it warm during cool nights. I attached it to my old reel in less than half an hour. It is light enough to easily roll up by yourself. Even if using solar pills worked, it is more cost effective using a solar cover, which also helps keep debris out of the pool."

Heavy blanket,
July 5, 2007
By Alex123
Pros: Well made, looks like it will last a long time Cons: VERY HEAVY - Beware
"Very heavy cover. Even with a commercial grade reel, it bows the reel at least 5 inches (18 foot wide cover). Too heavy for my wife to roll up. Suggest you look carefully before you buy."

Caution,
June 19, 2007
By poolmaintainer
Pros: Seems heavy duty and constructed well (time will tell) Cons: Poly tarp used to protect from the sun is too short (only 15'10" one came with my 18' wide cover)
"Seems like a heavy duty cover. Was disapointed that when I ordered it it showed to be instock and a few days later it was on backorder. Also the poly tarp included was almost 2 feet short to protect the solar cover"
