Pool Blaster Max HD - Very Poor Quality,
Date:April 21, 2013
By PoolOwner64

Pros: It does vacuum small debris..............................................................
Cons: Leaves black skid marks on pool....................................................
"My first Pool Blaster was a Max, and lasted 2 months until the teeth on the nylon gear stripped off. No abuse, just normal use. My second Pool Blaster is a Max HD. It has a black plastic vacuum head that leaves black skid marks on my in-ground concrete / plaster pool. Poor quality is an understatement. You might want to consider a product from another manufacturer."

BEST PRODUCT EVER,

Pros: It WORKS! This is a great product. When you buy products I am normally very sceptical if they work as stated,
Cons: None that I have seen - product works. None - instructions are easy to follow.
"I have a sand filter which when back flushed puts sand in the pool. I have tried everything to clean the sand but have found nothing. This product works. It does everything it says. It is easy to clean up after use."

Pros: Don't have drag out the hoses, easy to use and set up. Great for spot cleaning
Cons: none so far. I will update at a later time if I have too
"I get almost 2 cleanings out of a charge.
A great product buy the way. It is nice
not having to drag out the hoses, shut
one skimmer, shut the main drain, and
backwash and flush. I have been looking
for something like the Pool Blaster for
years!

Great Purchase,

Pros: Vacuum is easy to operate, The body is sturdy. It fits together easily
Cons: The battery requires recharging often. The nose cone comes off in pool when vacuum is full.
"I have used the Blaster for opening my super dirty pool (lots of leaves and debris). I have a large 18'x38' pool so I had to be patient as I ran out of battery power many times. The battery does charge in 2 hours and I was able to use approximately 2 hours before charging again. I did have a problem with the nose coming off in the pool when vacuum was full. I solved that by hooking a bungee cord from the handle to the nose cone. Since the Blaster removes debris before it reaches the pool filter, I have only had to clean filter once. I would recommend this product to anyone."

Pros: Easy to use, lightweight, effective product and a good value for the cost involved.
Cons: Limited concerns with the Pool Blaster Max as noted in my review.
"The Pool Blaster Max unit I purchased (to date) has been a a very effective unit for cleaning our 16' x 32' pool. It's very easy to use and it does a great job picking up the particles on the pool's floor.
I'd recommend applying a waterproof lubricant to the rubber ring/seal that's on the screw in/on cap everytime you're ready to submerge the unit in your pool/spa.
The "limited" negative aspects of this unit are that the unit needs to be stored indoors when it's not in use and the battery charge needs to be monitored as if the charging time exceeds 12 hours the battery's ability to recharge is lost and you'll need to replace the Pool Blaster as the battery is self contained inside the unit."

GREAT WHILE IT WORKED,
Date:July 8, 2010

Pros: NO HOSES TO ATTACH, STRONG VACUMM
Cons: AFTER ONLY 2 YEARS, JUST SUDDENLY STOPPED
"WE WERE THRILLED WITH THIS VACUMM FOR 2 YEARS. SO EASY COMPARED TO HAVING TO HOOK UP TO FILTER SYSTEM. BUT ALL OF A SUDDEN JUST WOULD NOT TURN ON. THE CHARGE LIGHT WAS ON, THE SWITCH WAS IN THE RIGHT POSITION BUT NOTHING."

Pros: Easy to use, does a great job
Cons: none
"I love this thing, I did have to go online and order micro filter bags to really get the fine silt that our pool has and they were very reasonable and also did the job. Just a great tool so far."

Pros: saves water

"This self-contained pool vac is much more efficient than the old fashioned type that hook up to the pool pump filter. I just bought my second one because the first one wouldn't take a charge after a year."

Pros: Easy to use, recharges over night, no hoses needed
Cons: Could have a bigger collection bag
"We love this product. Easy to use. Easier than standard vacuums and doesn't need a hose. Can be attached to a pole so you do not have to get into the pool unless you want to. This is our second one because we had the other for over 3 years and the battery would not recharge. We purchased the newer model instead of just a battery. It is nice because you can buy replacement parts if needed. We love it and would never go back to the old vacuums"

Not Good Product, but good service from In The Swi,

Pros: None
Cons: In The Swim Customer Service
"I purchased/ordered this item before reading customer reviews. Rather than cancelling my order, I thought I would still give it a try. I was concerned about the product failing and knew the user manual needed to be followed 100%. Although I followed the user manual's instructions 100%, the product failed anyhow. Very disapointing, considering I could really benefit from the functionality of what this product promised. The unit stopped working after only two uses. Oh well, lesson learned.
I returned it to In The Swim and was promptly credited a refund. Good customer service from In the Swim. Perhaps this product should be removed from the catalog until improvements are implemented by the manufacturer."

good tool for small pools,

By simplybluepools
from Key West, Fl.
from Key West, Fl.
Pros: good for small pool cleaning or large pool spot cleaning
Cons: i wish it had a longer battery life
"I have a pool service company and decided to try this product and I originally bought to clean out water fountains that dont have a skimmer or any other way to clean them out other than draining them. Opon using for a couple of times on the fountains I tried them on a few diferent pools and it worked well on smaller pools and o.k. for larger pools but I still prefer a regular hose and vacuum head for large pools. Only because it is faster. I would recommend it for spot cleaning larger pools in between. I would and have recommened this vacuum to homeowners as a cheaper alternative to a polaris for everyday cleanings. And i hope that in the swim will start to sell accesories for it fairly soon as I don't want to buy else where."

A Great Product,

Pros: Easy to use, works great
"We take good care of our pool and this product was a great purchase to get rid of the small debris that lays on the bottom and just makes the pool look messy. It is easy to use and only takes a few minutes to get the liner clean and looking as clean as a living room carpet that was just vacumed. After trying a few other bulky cleaning systems we were hesitant to try it but we are so happy that we did. Finally a product that really works."

Pros: No hoses to tangle, easy to use, self-contained, easy to clean
Cons: Doesn't come with handle, Price
"This is a great little unit. No hoses to get tangled up. No running up and down the stairs to backwash. The unit is self contained and easy to clean. I wish it came with it's own handle. Price is high. I found one at our local BJ's for half what I paid here.
All in all, very easy to use. I'd buy again."

Pros: Easy to use, Works well
Cons: Minor
"Great Item that makes vacuuming so much easier. My only complaint is that the supplied filter bag doesnt trap the small particles, so the get pushed through the unit and back into the pool. There are finer filter bags that can be purchased separately though."

Pros: Easy to use. Has a good suction.
Cons: Not easy to "empty/clean"
"This is an easy to use vacuum without all the trouble of a suction/hose connected to the pool. It has an excellent suction to get small debris out of the pool. It is a little difficult to empty the bag and connect it back to the equipment. With a little design adjustment made by the manufacturers, it would be much easier to use. I would recommend it for anyone that has a pool."

LLOOVVVEEEE THIS ONE!!!!,

Pros: independent of pool system; works great
Cons: Easy on the plastic head!
"I have had my PB for 4 years now. Still works great. Had mud on floor of my pool this year. Sucked it out! Could wash the net out and go again. Kept all the muddy yuck from going through my regular pool filter. It settled to the bottom and PB picked it up! Bought a second PB in commercial grade. It works but this old one is even better than that one. I now have an automatic cleaner too but still use the PB for quick pickups. Even my 8 year old can use it to help Mom! HIGHLY RECOMMEND."
