Lasted for (3) years,
April 23, 2009
By Anonymous Reviewer
Pros: Don't have to hook up vac hoses. Cons: Needs to come with another collector bag.
"I reluctantly bought this unit (3) years ago at the urging of my wife. I was very skeptical about how long it would last, how much power it had, and how long the battery pack would continue to charge. The only problem I had was that I used it so much that the collector bag's stiching finally came apart and I had to purchase another bag (which was a pain). I have to say that overall, I was VERY impressed with this unit and am defiantly going to buy another one!"

Thrown Away Money,
December 20, 2008
By 24RULESfrom North Carolina
Pros: Worked fine for one summer. I loved not having to hook up the valcumn hose. Cons: The motors are disposible. The second one they sent me only lasted a month. Water gets in and corodes the wiring.
"This thing should be taken off the market. The engineers who designed it need to figure out how to keep water out of the motor. Before both motors died it made a loud grinding sound. It would be a great product if they figure out how to make it work longer than 1-3 months."

Works great,
November 28, 2008
By beckthetech
Pros: picks up everything Cons: none
"This product works great. It picks up leaves and dirt with ease. The battery stays charged for well over an hour which gives you plenty of time to go around the pool a few times. I did have a problem with the first unit I recieved however, I called In The Swim and the sent me a new one within a few days. Ultimately I would highly recommend this product. It is so easy to use, no hoses or backwashing required!!!!"

Wonderful Product!!!,
November 27, 2008
By jclayplayfrom Centerburg, OH
Pros: Easy to use, It does not use your pools filter, light weight, excellent suction Cons: None
"I am so glad that we purchased this product. It is amazing! I like to use it by attaching it to the skimmer pole but my husband likes to put on his goggles and swim with it. It is easy to use either way! It has incredible suction and the battery lasts a long time before needing recharged. We get compliments all the time that we have the cleanest pool anyone has ever seen! I would totally recommend this product to anyone."

don't waste your money,
October 15, 2008
By summeris2shortfrom minnesota
Pros: no hoses, great for quick touchups Cons: should be labeled disposable! only worked for 1 year
"When I first got this, I thought it was the best thing ever invented for pool cleanups. I only used it for one summer and the first part of 2008 summer. All of a sudden it quit working. I wasted a lot of time and the frustration was unbelievable trying to charge the thing and trying to figure out why it wouldn't turn on. I finally had to accept that it was dead. I wish Polaris or some other reputable company would offer a similar product that would be reliable. It wasn't worth the money for the amount of use it provided and now I have to figure out how to dispose of the garbage."

Horrible,
September 16, 2008
By Anonymous Reviewerfrom Providence, RI
Pros: Easy to Use Cons: Didn't work
"I bought the Pool Blaster in the summer of 2007. It worked great for about 6 weeks. Then it just died. I waited until May of 2008 to return it to In The Swim. It was still under warranty. I received a brand new "improved" Pool Buster. It did not work. I couldn't turn it on. I called Pool Blaster and they told me that it was now out of warranty since the warranty ran from the purchase of the first product in 2007."

Cons: does not charge
"Terrible product/gadget. Worked once - picking up only very small stuff. Then refused to charge - service said it was fine, but a closer inspection revealed that the charger was broken. Bought a new charger. machine recharged once. Has not been able to use ot since. Even when it works, it os a toy / gadget."

Only good for one season,
July 13, 2008
By SwimmerUpstateNYfrom Rochester, NY
Pros: Works great (but just one season) Cons: Too expensive to service; battery life poor
"Just like your Dust Buster, it works great at first. But then over time, the battery life is reduced and then will not hold a charge. The purchase price was $199 and service price $139. Manufacturer will not sell customer a replacement battery. I hate to throw it away but can't think of anything else to with it. It's bad for the planet."

Pool blaster,
July 11, 2008
By QueenNanafrom North Branch, MN
Pros: cleans bottom and even floating debri Cons: hard to turn the knob
"this is a good product, I have used it multiple times a week. It does however, put sand back into the pool. I will start using a nylon stocking as recomended by other users. the only other thing I have to say that it is very difficult to turn off. the knob goes on okay, but it is very hard to turn it off. i have to use a pair of plyers to get the knob to move."

Save your money,
July 4, 2008
By Thaiswedegirlfrom Champlin, MN
Pros: Good concept, would be good for small jobs Cons: Doesn't work
"I was excited to get this product. It came quick as usual from In The Swim. However, I was sorely disappointed in the product. I used it as instructed just 2 times and the 3rd time, it wouldn't turn on. I made sure to charge it but it just never worked again. Reading some of the other reviews, it looks like I'm not the only one who's had this trouble. I hope others have had better luck with theirs."

Certainly a timesaver...!,
June 29, 2008
By nypatriotsfanfrom Rochester, NY
Pros: Quick and easy Cons: Doesn't have the suction that the video illustrates
"I purchased the Pool Blaster with initial thoughts of using it only as a step cleaner. However, unless it's completely submerged, it doesn't work so I could only use it for the lower 2 steps. It does, however, work really well for quickly removing debris that collects in the corners of our rectangular inground pool. A separate on/off switch would probably have been a wise design choice."

Good While It Lasts,
June 23, 2008
By mrtibbs2001from New York
Pros: Handy & Convenient Cons: Lacks Power & Only Lasts One Season
"We got this product 2 years ago and the first pool season it worked great and was so convenient. But the next season it wouldn't hold a charge. We sent it back and got it fixed by the manufacturer and it died a month later (after it was no longer covered by the warrenty). This is an expensive product to only last a season."

Great little cleaner,
June 22, 2008
By WorkingMomfrom Eau Claire, WI
Pros: small, convenient, no bulky hoses, works well for spot cleaning Cons: needs finer filter bag for sand, but a knee high panty hose works great.
"This is a great little cleaner. We have a 24 ft. round above ground pool. I just bought this cleaner, and have only used it a couple times, but I am thrilled with how well it works without the bulky hoses. The bag that comes with it doesn't hold sand. You can purchase a finer filter bag, but I put a knee high panty hose inside the bag and folded top over the top rim. This works great!"

DO NOT BUY THIS POOL BLASTER!!!,
June 20, 2008
By Yiannifrom Cranford, NJ
Pros: None. Cons: No power, sand and dirt run right out of it. Over priced!!!
"I bought this last year and for some reason every time I see an add for this device, I get enraged. Which kind of tells you how bad this was. I usually tend to accept products that dont work, like most of sharper image but they have some use. This hardly picks up anything. I mean maybe for 49.99 it can be used to spot clean leaves, other than that its useless. I was so upset I called In the Swim and told them I wanted to return it, they were wonderful and the best customer service I have ever dealt with. That is why now that I can afford or really not afford a robotic automatic cleaner I went for it and got the Dolphin Diagnostic. Its on backorder but hopefully it gets shipped to me. Usually in the swim is better than this, but it happens."

overpriced and underpowered vacuum,
June 18, 2008
By netscorerfrom Oxford, CT
Pros: nifty for spot cleaning; has attachments for both vinyl and cement pools Cons: lacks power, small container bag, does't filter sand or silt, can't pick up leaves, old-generation irreplacible battery
"InTheSwim was as usual very quick with delivery. I was somewhat surprised to see how small the vacuum is. It looked bigger in the pictures. The container can hold debris about a size of soda can, so don't expect to use this vacuum for any heavy cleaning. The provided bag can not filter sand or silt - it just passes it through back into the pool. I remedied the situation by covering the bag with filter saver (available from this site). Unfortunately, the total lack of sucking power forces me to go through the same spot over and over again until it cleans it. The vac does not handle the leaves unless they are completely disintegrated since the opening at the bottom is so narrow that leave can not pass through it to the container bag. The battery is Ni-Cd (old generation technology) and can not be replaced by user. So expect at most 2-3 years of servicable life. The manual recommends not to overcharge the battery but there is no built-in overcharge prevention or even an indicator that the battery is full. This Pool Blaster would be an OK purchase if the price would be about 50 dollars, but alas, I can not recommend it."

Great Product for the Job,
April 29, 2008
By NewPoolOwnerVAfrom Roanoke, VA
Pros: Easy to Use, Effective Cons: does not pick up small particules as well as large
"This product has met my expectations for it is easy to use and I believe a great value for the cost. I like that I do not have to worry about the debris/dirt going into my filter system where I would just have to clean it again. I think this product is a great solution for the price!"
