Pros: For the 1st time ever, opened the pool clear blue
Cons: A little hard getting the cover out of the pool.
"For us, this was a great investment and will pay for itself by next year. We used to open our pool in early to mid-May just so we could get a jump start on our swamp green mess of a pool. It would take us atleast $75-$100 in chemicals and countless hours of vacuuming, backwashing and then refilling the pool to get it clean and clear. It would take about 1 week to 10 days for this to happen. We got the blackout liner last year ('08) and used it for the 1st time at closing. We peeked several times over the winter & spring and the pool continued to be clear to the bottom of the deep-end. We opened our pool June 6th to clear, blue water. Vacuumed twice, put in algaeside, shock, Ph rise & chlorine and we were swimming in it the next afternoon.
It did take us about extra 1/2 hour to open the pool to get the black-out liner out of the pool without getting the swampy mess on the top of it in the pool. We folded in the sides first, which did keep the mess on the cover. Before we took it out of the pool, we got a bucket and was able to scoop most of the water out and then we could lift the cover out of the pool. Our pool opening experiece this year was great and saved us quite a headache and time. Best thing we ever did - wish we knew about this liner years ago!!!! The only reason I did only 4 starts and not 5 is because I have no idea how long the liner will last since this was our first year using it."

No help to out pool,

Pros: Easy to install
Cons: Not much help and hard to remove
"Last year used the mesh safety cover and opened the "pond" that took 2 weeks to clear. This year we added the Cover Mate and it is was only a "swamp" and took only 1 week to clear. Not all that is promised in the description. Can be hard to remove from the pool if any water remains on top."

"I bought this cover being a little sceptacle, but I was wrong. I used to open my pool 14x28 inground in mid May to a SWAMP! With this cover under my saftery cover my pool is crystal clear when I open it."

Pros: Exactly what we needed

"Always looked forward to pool season, but not opening the pool. I wanted the safety feature of the mesh pool, but didn't realize since light can get in that it would mean alot of algae. It literally would take a full week of scrubbing the sides and bottom and then a full week to clear up the cloudiness. Not with this product. It was as clear as when we closed it in the fall. I am so glad I saw this product in your catalog last summer. Thanks for making my life ALOT easier!"
