Skim-It / Love It!,

"We have seen this for a couple of years and finally bought one which we got the other day. Wish we had gotten it a long time ago. This is so simple to use and it WORKS! Anyone that can't get it to work is because it doesn't fit, which it clearly states "fits most" but not all, or they aren't installing it correctly and need to adjust. If you can't get it to work then try sliding the part that goes inside the skimmer to fit up against the side so when you put on the arm and it swings, because it will some due to the current, that it can't go too far because the side of the skimmer is stopping it."

Cons: Great Con: Have To Empty Skimmer Basket More Often!
"Did you ever buy something that works so great and yet is so simple in design you find yourself saying... "I sure wish I had invented this". Well that's how I felt just a few days after installing the Skim-It. Our 24 ft round above ground pool is surrounded by trees and I could constantly watch leaves, pine needles, twigs, etc just float past the skimmer opening and then shoot back around the pool as the debris hit the water outlet turbulence. Then I (finally) decided to give the Skim-It a try. I was amazed when the second day I went to check the skimmer basket and found it totally filled! If there is any con to this product it is that you will now have to check your skimmer basket on a much more regular basis! Thanks In The Swim for a great product."

"Purchased this product last year to maybe help me control the leaves and insects that can gather on top the pool. Easily installed it, and it cut the time of skimming my 28' pool by hours. I have recommended this item to every pool owner I have talked to."

"I am so glad I purchased this product. After a few days I was pretty amazed with the results.
This past summer was the first summer I had gone in my pool every day! It was almost bug free! (and that means a lot to me!)
Of course you still have to skim it manually but not as often and not as much. I'm truly satisfied with this product and I couldn't stop beaming about it!
I definitely recommend it."

"I have pine trees 10 feet from the pool and the wind always blows the needles in the pool, this will catch them and take into the skimmer so I don't have to vac as much"

"This is by far the best item I have bought for my pool yet! We have several tall trees that provide our pool with many uwanted leaves for the 1st month we open pool, during storms, and starting a month or so before it's time to close our pool that would fall to the bottom of the pool and some just float all over. Nothing we have purchased in the past from other sources seemed to do much good. We were skeptical about something that was so simple looking as this would be any better. However, we were greatly surprised & very pleased with it's performance. I would say that 98% of all leaves that find their way into our pool are quickly directed to the skimmer nowwhich saves us so much time trying to get out with a net & vacuum. I would HIGHLY recommend this item to any pool owner that has the same issues we had with so many nearby trees!"

"This item works well in conjunction with my Pool Skim. PoolHusband mentioned in his review that he purchased this device in place of the Pool Skim as it was cheaper and performs the same function. That is not true. The Pool Skim skims the pool and pulls all the leaves and junk into a separate mini-toilet bowl with a separate filter bag. This saves wear and tear on your pump and filter media. The Skim IT just guides the debris into your existing skimmer further contaminating the skimmer basket, pump and filter media."

"Our pool is under a leafy canopy so we have plenty of pool management tasks -- skimming being a key one. After spending an hour getting seasonal debris off the surface with the hand-pole skimmer, I thought I'd (finally) give this gadget a try. I also considered the (much more expensive) PoolSkim (item #A2195). I'm glad I tried this first. After a few days of use, I'm pleased with the results. Very little natural litter or bugs on the pool surface. To be sure, I think it needs a full season's trial, but I like the simplicity, ease of installation and low cost. BTW, when you're using the pool it is easily lifted off its axle so it's not in the way."

Cons: It sometimes moves, limiting effectiveness
"This is one of the best purchases we've ever made. We had one for a few years that broke last year. I guess the sun finally had it's effect on the plastic. We are ordering another one. I am already irritated with having to skim the leaves & bugs off the surface with a net and it is still May. So...I logged on today to order another Skim-It to replace the one that broke. I wouldn't have a pool without it now that we've experienced having one with it."

Pros: The Skim-It works very well at guiding all debris into skimmer
Cons: the attachment to the skimmer isn't easy to adjust once it's installed
"This product is amazing. It works very well at guiding debris into the skimmer. Ingenious design and idea! Works just as advertised. The only con is that I had a difficult time adjusting the screw installation part to fit tightly into the skimmer but once I got that adjusted to the correct height, the Skim-It works great!"

Cons: The plastic caps don't make a solid contact with my particular skimmer.
"I just installed my Skim It today and so far, so good. I did
have to make some adjustments to hold it in place. I added
rubber end caps (the kind you would put on chair legs). If
they keep it in place over time then I'll be pretty pleased. It
seems to do what it advertises."

"the skim-it is great! It directs so much debrie into the skimmmer, I haven't had to hand skim the pool all summer. Vacuming has been kept to a minimum. The only minus was that we have an older pool and the skim-it wouldn't fit into the skimmer properly, so my husband had to modify it."

"After purchasing the skimmer I noticed a great improvement in the cleanliness of our above ground pool. Before installing this item there were a lot of leaves on the bottom of the pool. The skimmer has all but eliminated the leaf problem. It channels the floating items into the strainer basket before they have a chance to sink."
