Awesome ladder, August 22, 2007
By TomP

Pros: Sturdy, easy to assemble
Cons: Lightweight

"By lightweight I mean it's a bit floaty. If you put in two small paver bricks into the areas provided, it's perfect. It's a good heavy duty ladder that's I've already recommended to a friend :)"

Not impressed, August 22, 2007
By jadams1218

Pros: Seems to be a very strong ladder
Cons: It floats

"The ladder seems to be very well made and very comfortable to use but even after putting 12 small bricks in the available spaces, the ladder would not remain on the bottom of the pool. Maybe it had something to do with the fact that this was a replacement ladder and I used the same deck fitting to mount it. From what I can see that should not have made a difference."

Great value, August 22, 2007
By Chipperboy

Pros: Easy to install, lightweight
Cons: Tends to want to float

"This ladder was a great investment. I did a lot of shopping around and found this one a a good price. It was my first purchase at In the Swim and it won't be my last. I was impressed by how quickly it arrived. It was very easy to install and I like the way it looks. My previous ladder had metal handles and it ended up looking rusty."

very good product, July 10, 2007
By phoneman

Pros: lightweight only plastic in water no metal
Cons: ladder floats needs weight added

"Nice product but it will try to float up. Can't put a ladder pad below it inbetween liner because it is not heavy enough to hold it down.I put 4 bricks in the bottom step cut-outs not heavy enough yet.might try filling with cement next?"

LUV MY IN GROUND LADDER, June 14, 2007
By MsWillie

Pros: Easy in and out with this ladder
Cons: You have to put stones in yourself to weigh it down

"In response to icegator's review:
He said:
"This is a solid ladder and is lightweight. Make sure you cut your hole through your deck on the small side. This will keep the ladder from raising up and moving."
My response:
You don't need to cut your holes on the small side in your deck in order to keep it from sliding up and down. Once you have the flanges screwed down onto the deck and you insert the aluminum handles, you simply predrill a hole right through the neck of the plastic flange and into the ladder handle itself, and simply insert a screw (I used the white head screws used for aluminum siding, they blend in too). This keeps the handle from sliding up and down through the deck holes. Remember to do it for both handles and as an extra measure, I also did it to the handles that insert into the ladder neck. Also they tell you to add some weight to the bottom step, I placed clean stones tied inside canvas bags and stuffed them into the little compartments on the backside of the bottom step, works great! Gives it a nice solid feel!
