Great pool cleaner,
July 9, 2008
By SantaRosa
Pros: works great, quiet. Cons: cord tangles a bit, can tip over in a rounded bottom pool, heavy removing from pool, filter bag is a pain to clean.
"All in all I really like this cleaner, drop it in and let it go. It picks up the smallest particles along with the larger things like leaves and pine needles. My pool is a 12X22 above ground with a bottom that has rounded areas going up the sides. The cleaner has a tendency to tip over if it gets at a drastic angle, but it is easy enough to flip back on it's wheels. It occassionally gets caught on the ladder, but easy to move. It is heavy because it is full of water, so when removing it from the pool it is a bit cumbersome. I LOVE the fact that it is quiet, I hate that clicking noise that our old vacumes made. The filter bag is sort of a pain, I usually use a bucket of water along with the hose to rinse and spray it clean. Getting the bag out is very easy though, so that makes up for the pain of cleaning the actual bag . The cord tends to twist, but it is easily untwisted, so I don't mind dealing with that. I figure no cleaner is without it's problems, I like this one far better than the other two types I have had in the past, the pool water looks great when I am done cleaning. 2 thumbs up in my book!"

Best Purchase Ever!!,
June 21, 2008
By medinafrom Medina, WI
Pros: So Easy - Just plug in, drop in pool and forget about it! Cons: Expensive - & the multiple times you have to clean the bag
"Even though the Rover is pricey, I think I've already made up the cost in the time it was taking me to clean my 28 ft. round pool. Living in WI in the country, we had a 3 inch thick layer of leaves in our pool and algae and debris from last fall & winter (our cover blew off) & even though it took multiple cleanings of the bag, the Rover removed everything. I've never had good suction using my filter/vacuuming system & this product is a livesaver. It's actually fun to watch. What a way to clean the pool...sit on the deck and enjoy a drink and watch it! Technology is great. It picked up not only huge amount of leaves, debris, algae, sticks, sand, but even parts of a broken thermometer that we didn't even realize were in there. I had my pool opened for the season in three days. From a green cespool to clear water and a clear bottom. It even cleaned in the couple of footprint crevices we have at the bottom of the pool. If you're frustated with the above ground pool vacuuming gadgets out there and sick and tired of having to haul everything out to use your filtration system for vacuuming.....this is the best investment you'll ever make for your pool!! Highly recommended!!"

Save Your Money,
June 20, 2008
By aratfrom Solomon, KS
Pros: Operates Independently Cons: Unable to clean as advertised
"I purchased my Pool Rover T thinking this is a great solution to keeping my above ground pool clean. After reading all the instructions I placed the cleaner in my pool and was impressed to see how quickly it zipped across the bottom. My initial thought was wow I have a winner here. I was very disappointed after returning to my pool only to find that little to no cleaning had been completed. The unit either does not produced enough suction, or is simply set too high from the surface of the pool. I just simply does not work, and the manufacture should have been aware of these limitations, I’m so glad that In The Swim has a 30 day return policy otherwise I would have spent a lot of money for a neat to watch toy. I need a product like this one that will actually work!"

SAVE YOUR MONEY!!,
June 16, 2008
By vomNoblefrom Croswell, MI
Pros: Filters the water, very quiet Cons: Clogs fast, doesn't perform as well as it says it will
"This thing boasts the ability to pick up large debris such as leaves & acorns....which it does. But once you have 5 leaves in it, you will need to stop, tear it apart, hose out the filter bag and start all over. I do like the fact that it also filters the water and I imagine that once spring clean up is done, it will be nice for that feature. But if you're trying to get your pool up & running and think this machine is the answer, think again!
There is supposed to be an optional mesh bag for the large debris, but nobody seems to carry it & some authorized dealers haven't even HEARD of it! So in the meantime, the small particle filtration bag that comes with it, is all you have to work with...and it does NOT do the job as well as it should.
So....if you're hoping to do spring or fall clean up fast & easy, save your money. This thing is far too over priced for it's level of performance. I spent $23 and got the "Leaf Gulper" and was done with my pool in 20 minutes after messing with this thing for a week!"

Aquabot Rover T,
June 8, 2008
By icemanfrom Michigan
Pros: Drop it in and forget it Cons: Bag cleaning
"I believe the Rover does everything they say it does and is very easy to operate. My wife gives it a thumbs up. I had my doubts when I first opened my pool because I had to keep cleaning the bag. Now that I have my pool stabilized it runs for it's cycle with no trouble.I am much amazed by what it picks up and could sit and watch it all day. (boring life)
BUY IT. IT IS WORTH THE MONEY!"

pool rover-Best purchase ever!,
May 11, 2008
By Anonymous Reviewerfrom Donalsonville, Georgia
Pros: easy to use, plug and go Cons: electrical box needs to be in water safe area
"I was excited about placing my order for the pool rover and could not wait until it came in! When it came in I read the instructions completely and then hooked it up and dropped in my pool as it says it picks up even the tiniest of items in the bottom! It goes and stops just as it says...you can adjust it if needed but I left mine with manufacturer settings. I can watch it for the two hours it is in the pool and not get bored! This beats using the vacs that just jump around...and the kind that you have to push around I had a frog that attached to my pump and this rover that works on its own is amazing it cleans so perfect!"

love this cleaner,
February 21, 2008
By nil1552from missouri city texas
Pros: fully automatic Cons: expensive
"I have had this cleaner for several seasons now, and it still works perfectly.no more long hoses, and difficult instructions.does not rely on your pump and filter. picks up everything. I have an 18 round aboveground pool and the bag only has to be rinsed out once to get entire pool clean.just put in and go do something else for awhile. if I ever have to replace, would deffinately purchase another."

Fabulous pool cleaner,
August 27, 2007
By 4My3Sons
Pros: Smart cleaner -has pool wall memory,Large collection area, cleans well Cons: Wheel washers & caps fall off after time
"Love the rover! It is a GREAT pool cleaner with a LARGE removable cloth collection bag. The rover cleans quickly and thoroughly. Collection bag can be squirted off with a hose. The rover has memory and will remember the distance of the pool walls. Highly recommend this product! The only con we found was that over time the wheel washers and caps will work their way loose and fall off into the pool if you are not attentive. Easily replaced with parts at your local hardware store."

Best cleaner I have bought in 20 years,
August 22, 2007
By cleanerinplattsburghfrom Plattsburgh NY
Pros: quick easy cleaning no hoses to deal with Cons: none
"I have a bad back problem with the automatic pool rover cleaner I don't need to do anything but to drop it in and let it go no hoses to hook no big pole to drag around the pool. Simply empty bag when done and rinse so simple. I wish I would of purchased this years ago. I put it in and about 30 to 45 minutes later the pool is done. It removes everything or anything in the pool. No matter how small. A child could operate this rover. I would recommend it to everyone."

Great Purchase,
August 22, 2007
By kbj77from WI
Pros: I don't have to get into the pool to clean it. Cons: Doesn't always get the sand around the edges.
"I really love the Pool Rover. I can put it in the pool and away it goes. If the weather in WI is cool, I don't have to get in the pool to clean it. I am very happy with this purchase and would recommend it to anyone. Also while the Pool Rover is cleaning, I am able to do something else. My Pool has never been cleaner."

Love This Machine!,
August 22, 2007
By easielife
Pros: This machine was very easy to set up and use. I can't believe the amount of leaves it picks up. Cons: The only thing about this machine is the cord. It gets a little tangled on top of the water.
"Overall I love this machine. I run the main filter, then drop the machine in to pick up the bottom. Makes cleaning the pool so much easier. Especially when your the only one doing it. I have recommended this to my friends. Why waste time setting up and then removing and putting away hoses, etc. My theory....drop it in a go!"

Works as Advertised,
August 22, 2007
By vbfakerfrom Galena, Ohio
Pros: Cleans pool better than my old suction side vacuum Cons: None so far
"Does a good job getting out the sand the raccoons seem to keep putting in the pool at night. It even gets the dirt out of the irregularities in my pool bottom. It cleans my 16 x 32 oval pool in one cycle but I usually run it through at least 2 to makes sure the micro particles are filtered out. Plus, by changing the steering between cycles, this helps keep the electrical cord from tangling so much. Cleaning the bag is a bit of a chore but it beats shutting everything down to clean my filter cartridge."

Good vacuum,
August 22, 2007
By goaliemom39
Pros: rugged terrain wheels Cons: could be faster
"I bought this for my above ground pool that had a liner problem so the bottom is not as smooth as it once was. The wheels on this cleaner work great, it does not get stuck like my aqua bug did. For the price I think it works pretty good, it could have a larger bag to hold debris, but it does a good job picking up what it can. I don't think any cleaner out there will pick up everything as it passes by. Quality for the money is good. We are happy with it and have been using it all summer. Just have to keep up with the cleaning or it gets a little overwhelmed and takes longer to clean."

Pros: price and delivery is fast and easy Cons: sometimes needs to be cleaned out alot
"Finally made the jump to an automatic cleaner. I am so glad I did. They are expensive, but with in the swims payment options it made it alot easier. The time saved is well worth the purchase. It allows me to get the pool ready much faster in the spring and to clean it up faster for winterizing. It is a good machine for the price."

Excitement short lived,
July 9, 2007

Pros: Awesome cleaner Cons: Constantly cleaning bag
"We were excited to have this great vacuum (unbelievable what it picks up) as we observed it clean the bottom of our pool effortlessly. After the fourth cleaning of the bag, we put the Rover in and it was dead (did not vacuum or travel). Problem yet unknown.
Totally disappointed, allerena"

Expensive for so-so cleaning,
June 18, 2007
By SierraGuy
Pros: Easy to use..no pump hookups needed. Cons: Gets clogged easily if pool is too dirty
"I bought this because I thought it might be easier to use rather than hooking up the Aquabug to the filter system. I could only find a couple of reviews for this product, which both stated how wonderful it was, but I found out otherwise. The setup and use if this is simple. Just drop it in the pool and plug it in. You have to spend a few minutes setting the forward, reverse timing in the power supply to get the pattern that works best for your pool, but once it is done, you shouldn't have to do it again. The rover was very fast, but as I live in a very windy area, my pool accumulates a lot of dirt fairly quickly. As sometimes my pool may not be used for a week at a time, the Rover can not handle the amount of dirt in my pool before the filter bag clogs up. I ended up having to empty and clean the filter bag five times (I have a 12' x 24' Doughboy) before my pool was clean. It took longer to empty and clean the filter bag (I had to wash it after the third time I emptied it) than it did for the Aqua Bug to clean my pool the old way. I can see this being a very good vacuum if you use it every day and your pool doesn't get too dirty in between cleanings. It definately saves time from having to hook up the automatic cleaners to the filter system or hand vacuuming."
