Pros: Actually works, easy to use, and kit includes products that I may forget to buy on my own.
Cons: Had to figure out the measurements for my small pool
"This kit worked well for us. We bought our above ground pool late in the season, but it still needs to be clean! The only problem is having to clean the algae out of the bottom of the pool after using the chemicals (but that is a normal problem). This is a great kit to buy when you first buy a pool."

Pros: Everything you need to open the pool in one simple box and delivered to the door. No fighting crowds at the store.
Cons: Directions are very uninformative especially for a new pool owner.
"The products are great but the instructions in the box and on the bottles are very sparse. As a fairly new pool owner I wanted it step by step. i.e: First add _____. Wait two hours then add _____. If this then ______. My son suggested throwing everything in at once to see if it would blow up the green."

"This Start Up Kit was the greatest for getting the pool ready for the Apartment Complex Pool I manage. I totally recommend this product and if you have trouble with the directions, just go back to the order page and there they are to print out or just copy down. "I just purchased the start up kit and I am now fixing to use it for the first time. In previous years I usually spend over $100. at a pool supply store, so after seeing this site online I decided to give it a try. ok, right off, I see there are no directions as to what order to use the chemicals and how much and how often. the ones I previously bought at pool supply was computerized and their bottles labeled in what order and the amount to use. and also, after you use the start up kit, what do you use for regular maintenance? How often do you apply chemicals to pool? I am hoping to get an answer on here before I mess up with my pool. I have seen where others had similar questions, but nobody answered them. Please Help!"

Cons: instruction booklet needs more details about the chemicals. ex. which one to add first or an order in which to add them
"I was very skeptical to buy this because I always have problems every year getting the pool clear. My pool was green and within a few days it was all clear. I am very impressed. I think the kit should include stabilizer and ph to make it complete because I had to add these 2 chemicals to my pool also in which I had to pick up at a local store. So make sure you buy some on here with your kit."

The pool places I have went to tested my water and says I need this and that and before it was all over I have spent alot of money. "Other than vacuuming the dust off the bottom, the pool cleared itself. The chemicals used also removed stains that had appeared in late season. I have purchased additional chemicals for maintenance purposes and the pool continues to be crystal clear. We do not seem to be using nearly as much chloring as we have in the past versus local store bought chlorine."
