DO NOT BUY THIS!!, September 25, 2008
By SADSWIMMER from CHARLOTTE, NC

Pros: NONE
Cons: THE COST TO FIX YOUR POOL NEXT YEAR WILL BE TRIPLE THE COST YOUR THINK YOU ARE SAVING UP FRONT

"SPEND THE MONEY ON A BETTER COVER. THE COVER DETERIORATED. THERE WAS SO MUCH JUNK IN THE POOL WHEN WE TOOK IT OFF IT WAS UNBELIEVABLE. THE COVER WAS SO SHEER WE COULD SEE THROUGH IT, MEANING ALL OF THE WINTER DEBRIS WENT STRAIGHT IN. IT TOOK 5 TRIPS TO GET THE WATER ANYALIZED THE $100'S IN CHEMICALS EACH TIME TO STABALIZE THE POOL. IT TOOK TIL JULY TO GET THE WATER SO WE COULD USE OUR POOL. WE HAVE HAD OUR POOL 5-6 SUMMERS AND NEVER HAD THIS PROBLEM IN THE PAST"

Don't waste your money, September 16, 2008
By cduke24 from Tennessee

Pros: none
Cons: doesn't hold up well

"The first season this cover worked fine. The second season the cover ripped. It also did not keep dirt out. When we pulled the cover off, my pool looked like a pond! It took a week and nearly $200 worth of chemicals to clean the pool up."

Buy the better one, August 30, 2008
By vagirls from Tidewater Virginia

Pros: Cheep
Cons: only lasted 1 and 1-1/2 seasons

"By the middle of the second season water and debris were seeping through the top and into my pool...What a mess and took me an extra week to get my pool open... Buy the better pool cover and skip this one..."

Don't bother!, August 17, 2008
By Grannyat39

Cons: Small Tears after first winter - MASSIVE rips before 2nd winter was through

"I can't believe that this is listed as an 8-year cover. Didn't make it through the first winter without small tears. After repairs, ADDITIONAL rips and tears appeared and filled our pool with winter leaves and crud - took three weeks and 15 gallons of liquid shock just to be able to see all the crud submerged in the pool. I would have been better off not even covering the pool at all."

Two in Three years, April 11, 2008
By TheOrganist from Hoosick Falls, NY

Pros: Lightweight
Cons: Will never last eight years

"The first one had several holes after a year and the grommets were rusted. It was replaced under warranty (I paid return shipping) but the replacement had a few small holes the next year which I patched. This spring (second year on the replacement) the cover has a few monstrous tears and will have to be thrown out. This second one has no 8-year warranty that I know of."

Don't waste your money, March 15, 2008
By Cincyswim from Cincinnati, OH

Cons: Rips easily

"Second season using this cover. Noticed rip after about 3 weeks of being on. After about 8 weeks, wind completely ripped the around approximately 10 of the metal holes and there's no salvaging it. Definitely would never last 8 years!"

Don't waste your money, November 13, 2007
By Roxsanne from Indiana

Pros: none
Cons: Didn't even last for 8 weeks, let alone 8 years.

"This cover is supposed to be an 8 year cover. I have had it less than 8 weeks and it ripped in 3 places!! Now, I get the pleasure of trying to 're-close' the pool."

Not worth the money, September 29, 2007
By cjturner from Lafayette, IN

Pros: Easy to install with the wench
Cons: Didn't make through 1 winter.

"The cover is easy to install. I put this on my 27' and liked the way it fit. But after a couple of months on, it already had holes in it from the birds, weather, etc. Making opening it in the spring difficult. Would not waste my money on one again."

What a mess!, September 28, 2007
By poolpapa

Pros: easy to install, inexpensive
Cons: seam ripped causing messy cleanup in spring

"Not happy with this purchase. Ours ended up with a ripped seam even though it is 'heat sealed'. The pool was so dirty in spring, it took about two weeks to completely clean it up. I, too, had wanted a cheap cover that I could replace every few years, but if it doesn't last even ONE season, why purchase one at all? Maybe we got a faulty one, but I'm not going to try another one like this."

Great cover, August 10, 2007
By pmswim

Pros: Very sturdy, pretty easy to handle
Cons: none

"Great winter cover! It is sturdy and easy to put on. The ratchet makes it easy to tighten up, and the wire is thick and coated - making it easier to use. I recommend it!"

Pro-Strength 8-Year Above Ground Pool Cover, August 10, 2007
By grannypoolqueen

Pros: Very Good Value

"This is my second purchase of the Pro-Strength 8-Year Above Ground Pool Cover. I have purchased others in the past but I have found that this one meets my needs. I would rather purchase this one and then replace it after 2 or 3 years than to purchase one with a longer warranty. We have a lot of changes in temperatures and wind during our winters and springs that cause stress on the cover and even the ones with a longer warranty tend to get small tears. It is just easier for me to replace this one than to deal with the warranty issues on the ones with a longer warranty."
