Pros: Quiet
Cons: Lasted only a little over 4 years
"This pump quiet and saved some money in electricity costs. Now in the 4- 5th year- bearings started screaming and it locked up. Myself being employed repairing things, I took it apart to find out why, Very poor bearing design. Previous pump lasted over 15 years. I would spend extra time and money next time. Beginning of this season (2009) the start up switch also failed, yet an easy repair, still would not recommend at all."

"I had the same problem as the previous reviewer. My pump only ran for three years and failed in a similar manner.

Pros: very quiet, ran excellent for two years
Cons: 2 yrs, 2 months and bearings shot
"installed easily and ran great for two years and two months. Quietest pump I've had or heard on numerous pools. Bearings started to grind and overheated in one afternoon. Had to replace shortly after warranty expired.
In process of repairing to see if I can determine cause of failure.
Overall, pretty expensive for only two years of use. Previous pump I had ran for 10 years; same manufacturer."

Pros: Easy to install, very quiet, easy access to basket

"I saved so much money by going to In the Swim.com. I saved about 50% by going to this site. The Hayward Super pump is excellent. I was able to install it myself no problem. The instructions were very clear. I was surprised at how quiet the pump is. Also, I love how easy it is to open the top. You just have to unscrew the handles and take the basket out for cleaning. I am 100% satisfied with this pump and would purchase another one in the future."
