Pros: Quiet
Cons: Lasted only a little over 4 years
"This pump quiet and saved some money in electricity costs. Now in the 4- 5th year- bearings started screaming and it locked up. Myself being employed repairing things, I took it apart to find out why, Very poor bearing design. Previous pump lasted over 15 years. I would spend extra time and money next time. Beginning of this season (2009) the start up switch also failed, yet an easy repair, still would not recommend at all."

Pros: very quiet, ran excellent for two years
Cons: 2 yrs, 2 months and bearings shot
"installed easily and ran great for two years and two months. Quietest pump I've had or heard on numerous pools. Bearings started to grind and overheated in one afternoon. Had to replace shortly after warranty expired.
In process of repairing to see if I can determine cause of failure.
Overall, pretty expensive for only two years of use. Previous pump I had ran for 10 years; same manufacturer."

"I saved so much money by going to In the Swim.com. I saved about 50% by going to this site. The Hayward Super pump is excellent. I was able to install it myself no problem. The instructions were very clear. I was surprised at how quiet the pump is. Also, I love how easy it is to open the top. You just have to unscrew the handles and take the basket out for cleaning. I am 100% satisfied with this pump and would purchase another one in the future."

"This company offered the absolute lowest price anywhere by almost 50%. The product was shipped to my front door less than 24 hours after the online order was made. Exactly as promised! I would not purchase a product like this from a local company in the future as prices are prohibitive. With their extended no questions asked warranty, this is the only way to go."

"This pump was simple to install and a quiet running pump. I was replacing a 1.5hp Super Pump that I thought had failed (was just a wiring problem). The new one is a 1hp pump. I didn't need the additional hp since I no longer had a solar heater, so I reduced the hp to save some energy."

"We purchased this pump last year, so we've had ample time to use it before writing this review. The pump is a great purchase for the price. It is very forceful. The lid is easy to get off making emptying the basket quite simple. My husband installed it and he didn't have any problems with the installation. I love In the Swim products and will continue to use them."

Cons: A little loud. Connections were slightly different than previous Hayward pump.
"I drove to the warehouse in West Chicago. Picked up the pump. The next day my husband installed The 1.5 hp pump. ( He is not a licensed electrician, but had done simple wiring before.) Easy. convienient, and solved our problem in 48 hrs. I will be continuing my business there. Helpful, friendly service. Great Pump"

Cons: It wears our very quickly
"Purchased two pumps, first one lasted half the season and the bearing screemed making loads of noise. When the season finish I had it replaced under warranty. Half way through the next season the new one started to leak, by September I would need to top the pool of weekly and you could see airbubbles also coming out in the pool, so it was leaking on both the pressure and vacuum sides of the pump. Not happy!"
